Like others here, this is my first BEV, but I had PHEVs before.
  1. 2013 Chevy Volt (2 yr lease)
  2. 2014 Ford Fusion Energi (3 yr lease)
  3. 2015 Chevy Volt (bought used)
I don't really consider the Volt a PHEV since it drove 100% EV mode a lot of the time. I liked Chevy's original moniker, EREV: Extended Range EV

May be pulling the trigger today on a Premium AWD, ext. range, Rapid Red (not quite the color of my '65 Mustang). Odd thing was none of the dealers I messaged could come up with a CalR1, I wonder if Ford has already quit making them. My first kinna electric was a Prius - standard range LOL, but it would hit 600 miles on a road trip. I still miss that. Not quite a $10K below MSRP, but will with the disappearing tax credit.

My Mach E is my first EV. I skipped the Hybrid or Plugin Hybrid phase and just went an EV but had been looking at both for a while.

I won't say "never". Someday, if I had the garage space, I'd like something like a Bronco (not the Bronco Sport). Would I prefer it electric? Yes.

Our first BEV was the first MY Nissan Leaf. Pre-ordered from a local dealer, it was supposed to be a 2010 MY, but Nissan delivered only one Leaf in the US by the end of 2010 (just to say they did it). Ours arrived in June, officially a 2011 MY car.

Still have it, it gets a lot of use for local errands. Got the battery replaced free, under warranty--the improved "Lizard" battery, less affected by heat. Still has GOM 75 miles of range, down only one capacity bar, whoop!

Weirdly enough, our "2021" job 2 Mach-E, ordered in May 2021, was delivered in April 2022 -- but still officially a 2021 MY car. Seems to be a pattern.

During that time, we also had a Subaru Forester and/or a Prius V. Still have the Prius.

We're so glad you made the switch. We'd love to see some pictures of your Mach-E.

First electrified vehicle of any kind...we considered a PHEV but decided to jump in with both feet. We're hooked...unless we're buying something "vintage", going forward anything we buy will be electrified (preferably BEV).
That's my family as well. My old Prius was getting creaky with age, and so a year ago, we got a bZ4X, because I thought maybe Toyota would make a reliable EV, even if it wasn't as fast and had less range than other comparable ones. I got rid of it 8 months ago and bought my MME instead, but both my husband and I were so fond of the perks of EV driving that we replaced his aging ICE car with a slightly used EV as well. Now I am trying to get others to try an EV. My neighbor just got a used Leaf, and my brother is likely to get a used Kona Electric once his car is declared totaled. Dad wants an EV as well, but mom is resistant, insisting their 15+ year old Lexus is fine. Yay EVs!

MME was my first EV. Was long-range planning on Tesla when the MME came onto the scene and changed that plan.

DCFC was a usability shock. Plug and Charge took months to work right. Dispensers froze and would not take anything. Now that I kinda know what I am doing, fewer problems that I can’t work around. Last few trips were great.

Previously leased a 2014 BMW i3 ReX for 3 years. Loved that car for in-town commuting, but with only 70 MI of electric range and a 2 gallon gas tank, def not a road tripper. At the end of the lease, the buyout was more than the car was worth so we reluctantly turned it back.
Going into 2023, my wife was driving a BMW X3 (23mpg) and I was driving a 2007 Honda Ridgeline (16 mpg). In February, the X3 was totalled in a rear-end collision and so now the wife is driving a nice new Toyota Venza Nightshade edition hybrid (40 mpg). I had considered a MME for myself when they first came out but decided to wait a while. Been mildly interested lately in the Toyota BZ4X/Subaru Solterra and drove a couple on test drives. While returning to the dealership with the Solterra, we drove through the used car lot and I spied the cyber orange 2021 MME GT and was hooked. 4 days later I left my much-loved and super reliable Ridgeline behind and drove the Mustang home. The used Mustang was priced at about $13K less than the new Solterra so I thought it was a no-brainer. However a week and a half later, the Mustang had to be towed to the dealership ("SSN", "battery depleted" and various other critical faults) and remains there today. Service rep thinks they have it fixed and I should know today if that's true.
I want to love this car! And for a week and a half it worked flawlessly! Such a great driving experience and no gas. Hopefully I'll get past this hiccup, and the upcoming 23S56 HVBJB replacement and it will be years of happy, trouble free ownership.
Awesome vehicle when it works right!

Oof. Assuming the HVBJB behaves, I think the MME is an excellent car, and a far better distance driver than the bZ4X (which I had for 8 months). Maybe Toyota has a more reliable EV (time will tell), but not one you can reliably get far distances, because they don't think it's possible to road trip EVs. Hopefully your cyber orange GT is back soon in tip top shape! I love that color.

I had three hybrids before switching to the Mach-E ... and the reliability of the hybrids (my last hybrid was 14 years old when I sold it -- zero problems with the battery or electric powertrain) gave me confidence that I could do the switch to full EV.

11 months after getting the car I did a 3500 mile road trip and it went really well. I have another long road trip planned for the spring.

This is my first EV but I, for the near future, will never just own an EV. I have driven Hybrids since 2002 and will always have a hybrid for cross country. Very seldom do I find all Gas pumps out of order and if I do there is one across the street. Love the MME but my love has limits.
