Would the “stay on” method potentially help the car also download updates?
No, they don't take that long to download (usually less than 30 mins). If you don't have an update showing up, leaving your car on won't help. Leaving the car on for hours is only for helping with updates that failed.

See this: How To Get Failed OTAs To Install

Don't skip any steps for a particular method.
blower method got me to 95 SOC. Followed all steps and let it sit for 45 while updating. Came back out and still got the "install interrupted by a process" error. I have to charge at home tonight as I have a 4 hour round trip drive tomorrow. If that doesn't kick it in gear I will try some of the other methods.

Battery is charged enough. So you're pressing "install now" and then shutting off the vehicle? What are you missing from this list?

I am missing nothing from the precondition list.
press install now, it asks me to shut off the car, I shut it off, timer comes up, I open the door, get out, close and lock the car. Parking break is also on

OK. And just to cover everything, you have all USB and OBD2 port devices unplugged (including cables)? J1772 unplugged? And are manually turning the headlights off before starting the update?

correct. Nothing plugged in anywhere and light switched is turned until it says off then I click ok.

for additional reference. 6.6, 6.7 and the power up installed no problem in the last week or so.

OK, yours is a special case. You have a very odd P161C code in your PCM for a configuration mismatch for some reason, my guess is that's holding things up. Have you modified any vehicle configuration files? The PCM and/or IPC configuration might need to get reflashed before this update can complete. You also have a screen overheating code that might also be causing problems.

If you want you can try a SYNC reboot and/or a 12V reset.

Just got 6.8 yesterday and today found my only annoying quirk! previously my seatbelt warding dinger only dinged 6 times on my trip from the gate to the garage and now it dings nonstop!
yes I could put my seatbelt on to stop the dinging but I am on my own property with no traffic so I have had a habit of not buckling up after collecting the mail when entering the gate.

thanks for looking into it. I wouldn’t even know how to modify anything so nope, nothing on my end except for the updates coming in. I have done several sync resets today (this the hold volume down hard refresh right?).

is doing a 12v reset tough? While I a, a tech guy I am not very good at car stuff outside software.

for the reflash is this another dealer thing or can the OTA team do it remotely. been on the shop so much over the last year it’s been a bit tiring.

thanks again

Yes, they needed to make it more annoying: https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/many-suvs-struggle-in-first-iihs-seat-belt-reminder-evaluations

12V reset means disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes. You need to pop off the top frunk panel, and use a 10 mm hex socket to loosen the negative battery terminal, then lift it up so it doesn't touch for 10 minutes. Drop back down, tighten securely, replace frunk panel.

I'll give that a try tomorrow and report back. Thanks again

Side note and something new I just noticed as this is the first time I have charged since the nameless power up installed and 6.8 popped up. My mobile charger won't charge to anything but 100. Deleted my home profile and refreshed it. Changed percentage in the app but still will only to 100. Don't know if related to my issues but weird software gnomes none the less.

I have lane centering on all the time anyway, so it won't bother me. But I predict there's going to be A LOT of complaining.
that’s the only layout I’ve ever seen on my late 2023 MME. What other options are or were there?
