Is anybody else having the same issue? The button won’t work no matter what I do. I just got my 2023 Mach-E Premium ER, and I want to set it so it pre-conditions the car even if I don't charge it at night. Especially as winter approaches, I'd like to get that handled before in case I’m leaving work or something with no charger attached. I tried deleting all departures and even the app with no luck. I know you can just remote start it from the app, but I was under the assumption that preconditioning would start it sooner and stay on longer to help warm the battery more than remote start TIA

There‘s no practical advantage to preconditioning when not plugged in.
Well, the practical advantage in my case would be like the 2022 Explorer I had with "Scheduled Remote Starts" if I am busy and forget to start my car before leaving work. They have removed that option when you get a Mach-E, and you are only left with scheduled departure times. So that's a massive advantage for me.

My comment is mainly in regards to “warming the battery”. Warming the battery during preconditioning serves to increase range, but doing it while unplugged uses enough battery that you actually end up with less range than if you didn’t precondition.

EVs put out heat almost immediately since there’s no engine to warm up so doing a remote start as you leave the building should get the job done, depending on how far you’re parked from the door.

Unless something has changed you can not pre-condition batteries unless you are plugged in (or set a charge nav point on Ford nav system and driving towards a charger.) You can condition your cabin; however, I do not think it warms it up any more than auto starting the car. I have no experience as I have never used the function but that has always been my understanding and there are several threads covering it.

Yeah, I guess my main reason for doing it is also twofold: I would like to have a scheduled remote start. So on the days I don't have it plugged in...It still starts up and warms my cabin or cools my cabin. Hmm... Also, it's more of a problem with the app, and why won't it work? I wondered if anyone else had this issue and how they solved it or fixed the app.

I would suggest making your setting in the car and not thru the app. I have read several instances where owners have had issues with setting thru the app. I believe they always work when set in the car itself. Just my thought.

...thanks for explaining this. I do wish Ford would remove this option from the app. A tad bit misleading.
