Right.... so I thought there was a difference between Plug & Charge and the free charging. I thought Plug & Charge was the tech that just allows you to, you know, plug in and charge.

But you can initiate a charge session on ChargePoint and many other brands using FordPass. So I assumed you could use the 250kWh for anything initiated through FordPass. ChargePoint is, after all, part of the FordPass network.

So again, I’m just curious, where does Ford explicitly say you can only use the free 250 with EA - or with Plug & Charge?

Not trying to make a federal case out of it, and I’m not disagreeing with you, but I’m curious where Ford actually documented this?
ChargePoint not listed. See the fine print: For EA charging sessions payment will be made against your bundle.

Doesn’t say ChargePoint anywhere here. Powered by EA:

They documented it when you activated your Electrify America free kWh bundle, and clearly on the bundle status page.

Plug&Charge is different than the free charging. Plug&Charge is a feature supported by Greenlots and Electrify America, and has nothing to do with your free Electrify America kWh.

but you just said it worked as advertised....
It did in my one short test. But that doesn't mean it will consistently yet. I've read/watched hundreds of people's reports and it's very mixed. And seems to depend a lot on the charger.

My test was primarily just to test DCFC and make sure it didn't trigger a 12V battery problem like some were experiencing at the time.

I charged at Chargepoints a ton in the 4+ years I had my Energi and I've yet to see a CCS charger at one of their stations around SF. The fastest I've seen is 7kW. Curious if it's just a California thing...

Their app is super easy and as mentioned above you just tap your phone and are good to go.

yes, you can use the 250kWhr EA bundle without using P&C. to do so, you can find the EA charger in the FordPass Ford Network Charging map and activate the charge manually through the app

Always used the ford app for EA stations. Only once was it truly plug and play. All the rest have been plug in then activate charger on ford app. Works well. we have one charger with both a 50 and 150 amp service in the same unit. The others are all 150 amps. The ford app showed both and worked well. Even asked if I wanted to authorize charges to cc when done with free KW’s. I did not use the EA or other app on it yet

In F pass app:Vehicle/charging/Blue Oval Charge Network- should show your balance.

To use CHPT you need the app and set up an account and then add to Apple Wallet if you have iPhone. Approach CHPT charger double click power iphone button and hold near charger to activate then plug car in and charging shows in both FP or CHPT apps. Some university garages have free CHPT level 2 charging

Month late on reply here but if you wanted to use free Ford kwh, there is an EA charging station at the Walmart in Topeka area. EVgo also offers true plug and charge for Mach E although that does not matter in your case. I verified that the EVgo P&C works.
