I actually looked this up a couple of days ago. The ICE Mustang GT with similar specs and trim at my local dealer cost just as much as what I paid for my GT.
My Daughter has a Y and my wife thought it is hideous. She later saw an X and said that would work for her but we already had the GT. I also liked the Blazer EV RS.

$0.61/kWh home rate?!? Holy %@*&!!!

I knew CA was crazy expensive but didn't know it was 6x higher. Mine is $0.105/kWh.
This is no surprise to the CA folks. They always have and had these kind of rates. CA imports most of their power during high usage periods. Hint….all new home construction in CA requires Solar installations. The local utilities cannot handle the loads.
Hawaii has high utility rates also.
If you living in the SE, S, rates are around 0.12 to 0.16 per KW. Saying that although would not be the rate you would get at any Tesla SC station. Every site is different. For the Tesla folks this is no problem. That is their network and they are fine with it.
No matter what your opinion is of Tesla and its Founders, the network works, so take advantage of it.

Wait, the Y is hideous and the X is not? I can barely tell them apart. All the Teslas look the same to me - a variation on an egg.

The Mach-E GTPE, especially from the driver's seat, is far more an experience than the cubic inch volume of the vehicle.

Even if it were identical to a Ford Escape in volume and space, there's nothing Ford Escape about the human experience I enjoy from the driver's seat.

An ICE Mustang, on the other hand?

As different as they might be on geometrical paper, the design engineer for the Mach-E described in detail to Jay Leno how he kept driving the Mach-E during the development stage and reporting to his team how it compared to driving "A Mustang".

He was actually boasting to Jay Leno how that specific target was the target and that he felt that as an EV, the Mach-E had achieved the goal.

I admit that I haven't driven a current era ICE Mustang to compare. But I have driven a couple of Escapes and I will give the engineer the benefit of the doubt that driving my Mach-E GTPE is more similar to a Mustang GT than it is to any Ford Escape ever.

Just one old geezers hooligan opinion :)

Charge at least 5-6x a month at Tesla Superchargers so I use the Tesla app and start the charge using the app.

I pay $12.99/month for the 25% lower discounted rate than the regular or P&C rate.

At the lower Tesla rate, it's cheaper ($0.39/kWh) to charge at Tesla than charging at home ($0.61/kWh) plus I get 4% back using Citi Costco VISA card for all EV charges.

BTW: I have turned OFF P&C for Tesla because sometimes when the Tesla app does not communicate with the car, it reverts to the higher cost non Tesla driver rate.
Do you mind telling us where you live and what utility company you have? Have you checked into off peak EV charging?
Thanks

There is zero price difference.

IF you become a member of EA ($7) or Tesla ($12.99), you get a discount (25% for EA, ~20% for Tesla) for that month, but you must use their apps to initiate a charge when you are a member.

For your use case, use Plug and Charge.

And yes, there are multiple posts discussing this. ;)

Okay...i went on Ford Pass App to activate Plug and Charge....went to Energy, then Access and Permissions...It shows Plug and Charge as OFF, but there is no way for me to turn it on....not clickable at all??? I'm confused....

Go into Ford account and make sure you have an active credit card in your BlueOval Charge Network in Connected Services.

So Calif.

SCE

Yes, off peak I charge on the weekends at $0.21/kWh.

During the week it's much cheaper to charge to Tesla Superchargers - hence the monthly membership price....

That's a shame. It should never be cheaper to DCFC than to L2. Creates all the wrong incentives.

My utility in Michigan offers the same weekend discount on weekday nights between 11pm to 6am. Have you checked into that?

I have a 1945 house that leaks like a siv. I wish I could do the free nights plan that is available in my area but that would never work for my house leaking issue (centerpoint - Houston). I am paying 0.11 a kw during off peak - 10pm to 6pm. From 6pm to 10pm, 4 hours, I pay an astronomical rate of .36 for offpeak rates on this plan. ESS battery is working for me and I tend to not have to ever pay the electric company for their peak rates.... Probably a terrible plan for others but is great for me.

Point - Every families needs are different. What might be a good plan for one might be terrible for another. Might be a good idea to look at a different plan with off peak rates.

Please don't kill me and say the answer is all over the boards. I tried searching but don't see a dedicated post for this.

I just got an adapter, and I don't use superchargers often, but with the adapter I may start taking the car on longer trips.

Is there a difference in price if I activate plug and charge versus just using the EA or Tesla apps? Again, I won't be a high volume user....probably charge at one or the other maybe 1-2 times per month.

Thanks in advance!
I check the pricing on the plugshare app along the route before I do a road trip. Electrify Canada and Telsa are the most expensive options in eastern Canada at around 70 cents per KW. While Tesla is very reliable, parking at Telsa sites is a pain as the level 3 cables are extremely short and on the wrong side. Most other providers are under 60 cents per KW. For a 50 KW charge it can be as low as $ 15 while tesla is usually at least $35
