I got “ no key detected” several times since the update ?
Good god. Me too. First time that has happened in months. And the damned lift gate opened on its own, too. First time that has happened in 6 months.

So for those keeping score…. Car detects my key upon approach, wakes up, and opens the lift gate - in a parking garage directly beneath a low concrete column. I drop everything to lunge toward the door and stop it just an inch shy of the column. I then get in the car, and am told “no key detected.”

Great job, guys. Bra freaking vo.

I don't understand what updating the door latch modules has to do with getting BC1.2.
Initially a few people thought this was a GWM update, so that lead some to believe this was a precursor to 1.2. Then it was determined it was a door module update.

And you're not going to tell us that it didn't add the frunk button? You're slipping.
Thanks for catching that! It’s still early for me ?

Ever since this update my sound is all messed up. All notification peeps, Satellite radio, nab prompts and CarPlay audio is static with a weird echo. Only sound working as normal is text message CarPlay prompts and CarPlay phone calls. This sound issue also occurs when CarPlay isn't active. I have rebooted sync twice but no luck.

any thoughts?

You may want to try rebooting the digital signal processing (DSP) audio module... Disconnect the 12V battery or the DSP fuse for a few minutes.

Might be the "audio unit" fuse??

I think this actually might just be a coincidence to the update and my center speaker is bad. I played around with the balance and all speakers playing normal except when sent to center.....ugh

Oh... Ugh. Yeah I've seen several other reports of blown center speakers on the forum. :(

Another update that YET AGAIN reset all my radio stations.... First world problems
Yeah me too!
Does this just happen randomly? It seems thatrestting your radio stations doesn't happen to everyone

Pre-troll mode activated:
OMG, Ford Engineering sucks, that's why {Insert favorite automaker here} is moare better. They should hire some software people from {Insert favorite software developer here} to fix their junk.

I'm a {Insert random IT-related job title here} and Ford doesn't know what they are doing.
Pre-troll mode deactivated

So Ford Engineering/Jimmy Farley knows they have this problem, what do they do?
1) Start planning next generation hardware/software architecture (done, FNV4)
2) Hire someone to lead next gen arch team (done, Doug Field)
3) Hire software developers to build next gen arch (done)
4) Build next gen arch (almost done)
5) Install in super fantastically awesome new BEV vehicle (wait about two years)
Mostly because there is no way, in the current vehicle architecture, to turn off individual modules like the BCM, APIM, etc. It's all or nothing, you wake one to do an LVB charge, you wake all. It's a problem that can't be solved with a software update, it's a legacy hardware design issue.

So you basically have the car completely powered on when charging the LVB. This is a substantial drain, and you wouldn't want your car live for a few hours doing nothing but charging the LVB. If you did, the next forum topic would be "Why did my car lose 5% charge just sitting doing nothing?"

So when you are driving, LVB charging is just a small "other" HV battery drain. If you are charging, it's just an inconsequential redirect of power.
Hi Ron,

Firstly, I want to commend Ford on the Mustang Mach-E. As an owner for the past two years, I've been impressed with the innovation and commitment that Ford has demonstrated in the BEV sector. It is a great car, especially when taking into account the new info above regarding its architecture.

However, your 'pre-troll mode' comment struck a chord. I understand the difficulties of dealing with criticism, but please know that our feedback stems from a genuine desire to help improve this vehicle.

A recurring source of frustration within our community is the perceived pattern of over-promising and under-delivering, followed by a period of silence. For example, you've previously mentioned that the right lane bias issue would be addressed in an upcoming update, yet we've seen no progress or further communication on this. Likewise, Jimmy Farley and others have stated that a frunk button would be made available for Job 1 cars, but once again, we've been met with silence.

As for the discussion at hand in this thread, it seems we're often left guessing when it comes to updates, and the reasons for any failures are typically unclear. This lack of clarity, both from the vehicle and through the FordPass app, can make for a frustrating user experience. Enhanced communication, such as a simple status or error message, could go a long way towards improving this. Regarding the LVB causing an update to fail, if the LVB is low, when we click check for updates or install, can't it do all the checks then? For example, icon appears saying I have an update, I click it and then click install now or there's a button saying "check car status" or similar, it then checks the LVB SoC, parking brake, headlights, all the stuff you guys have the OTA hotline say. It reports back "LVB SoC is only at 50%, please continue to drive for at least XX minutes and then try again." And similar messages for whatever else it might be.

I also want to touch on the subject of current gen vs next gen. I understand from your post that certain issues are tied to legacy hardware limitations. However, the impression I'm getting is that these constraints are leading Ford to focus more on the next generation, leaving current MME owners feeling somewhat neglected.

Would it be PR suicide to simply admit if a certain feature can't be enabled, such as the frunk button in FordPass? Dog mode? Sentry mode? Ford Engineers made lots of "that's a possibility" or "that's something we're looking into" type statements and then silence since. Honest and open communication might be better received than one might think. You need to either go all in or not. There is no problem baiting us with potential updates but then if they can't pan out, you guys just go completely dark.

Despite these concerns, I remain an enthusiastic supporter of the Mustang Mach-E and its potential. We all want to see this car succeed and would love to feel like we're part of its ongoing evolution, rather than spectators.

I’d be happy with just release notes of what patch is being applied and what it should fix, imo, that should of been from the beginning but easy to fix in the now.

I will say, I am happy updates are rolling faster and more consistently but maybe that’s just me and our car.
