The build quality on my MME, I thought was good... until I got a few thousand miles on it. I'm sitting at 7k and I feel I'm just scratching the surface of problems to come. I *actually* am considering the extended warranty for the car because I will blow through the bumper to bumper quickly and they haven't figured out all the build issues just yet.

Driver's door window control switches have died, twice, but seems to 'fix' themselves after a few hours

I have had driver side front half-shaft replaced already, I think they also need to do the passenger side

Rear defroster barely works

Backup camera is nigh unusable it is so blurry (yes even after cleaning) is also super 'glitchy'

Self parking can't ever find a spot to park (yes, I get it first world problem)

Where the door panel meets the window has a dent (from my elbow) that won't go away

Key fob battery already needed to be replaced (I got the car in July)

All of these things are being addressed by my local ford dealer (who I had to bully in to giving me a loaner)

Maybe I'm just spoiled coming from luxury brands and just expect the dealer to seem slightly more interested in fixing my car and making me happy.

That sucks... sorry to hear all that. Thankfully it seems that a few of those problems can potentially be addressed in later software revisions. As far as the extended warranty, even if you go for the most expensive 8 year 150,000 mile with 0 deductible, it seems to only come out to just a tad over $3000 which seems like a no brainer to me, to be honest. The 3/36 that comes with the car is honestly abysmal when other competing brands are offering much higher warranties. As far as the dealer, I think that's the nature of the business. While it shouldn't be the case, dealerships get capped on their hourly rate for warranty repair, so they're none too happy to do them.

amazed at half shafts needing replacement at 7k miles. did they say why that happened?

I've got to say I haven't encountered any of the issues you've described luckily.

As to the extended warranty, I've never bought one with any car before but since it only comes with 3/36 I figured it'd be best to get the ford plan. Online you can get this for about 1600. I went ahead and purchased from my dealer at a little bit more, ($1900 this is with $100 co-pay per event). I think it's well worth it. just thinking of the cost of a failed sync 4 .

I'm beginning to wonder too... for me, I just had that TSB for the brakes applied a few weeks ago and the same issue is coming back up. I'll be making a second appointment for that today.

Wow...Maybe I am lucky or something. 8K on our MME and have had ZERO (0) NADA issues whatsoever. Probably the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Just got my GT 2 days ago and my backup cam is terrible at night. It's raining today and that does not make it better.

If you guys get a Ford backed ESP, and that’s the only one you should get, make sure you don’t just purchase it from your dealer.

You don’t have to buy one from your selling dealer.

Compare your dealers price to the online sellers.

…and Ziegler. With my combo of choices, Ziegler gave me the best price of the three with the code PAYINFULL

This is becoming a bigger and bigger issue... The half shaft on the drivers side of our Mach-E is making a noise that sounds just like a bad CV joint. I haven't got it to the dealer yet but it will be going in in the next week or so. We have just under 11k on our Mach-E.

At first it was barely noticeable but after a 3200 mile trip to TX it is quite noticeable when doing a slow sharp left turn.

I just had the rear brake pads and rotors changed as material from the brake pad came loose and stuck to the rotor on the passenger rear wheel and the car made a "thump, thump, thump" noise from back there. I asked them to change the front brake pads/rotors too as there is a TSB out on those but the Service writer refused. I told him that of course they didn't make any noise for the mechanic who test drove my car after the rear brakes were replaced because they were not wet. I've got a complaint in to the Service Manager asking him to intervene and get the front brake pads and rotors replaced too under the TSB. We'll see what happens. Up until now, the Service Department has been very cooperative when it comes to working on my car. My question is are the new brake pads made of a different material so this doesn't keep happening? From some of the comments (above) I'm starting to wonder.

Haha... Yeah my problem is getting worse. I'm certainly keeping my documents in order in case I need to file a Lemon Law complaint. I also asked them to change all 4, but they insisted on only the front pads.

I just called ford and had them add ANOTHER problem to be looked at.
The front passenger door won't open unless I use the remote to unlock the car even with key in hand. The rest of the doors open when you hit the button and key is in hand.

Update: Lots of modules need to be updated (according to Ford) one of them is the passenger side door recognising the key/paak and won't unlock when pressed.. my complaint also about the backup camera is also an update.

However... Ford is not going to pay for a second key fob. lame.

So... I think I'm done. @Ford Motor Company will not replace the door panel even though it is CLEARLY a defect.
Also I got a screw in my tire near the sidewall, it wasn't repairable (I patched it because it takes forever to get tires) I called Landmark Ford and talk to one of the service advisors, they said yes 12k/12 mo covered for the tire.

All of my issues are warranty items, They tried to charge me for a rental, but I convinced them that if I spent 60k on a car I would expect a loaner, not a rental. Also, the Explorer they gave me to use smelled like wet dog, and was not remotely clean. I'm not sure who is running their service department, but seriously they need to look at their life choices.
