Propulsion Sound On or Off

I like the sound. In an early Ford interview their spokesman said it's modeled after the sound of an EV motor. I think that's cool.

I think if it pleases your senses, do what ever your senses like.

I personally like the sound but wish it sounded a little more "mean".

BTW, I listen to the radio knowing that there really isn't a live Band playing in my car. It is an electrical simulated sound to please my senses. The sound you hear from the radio usually doesn't sound much like the live Band. Sounds have been synthesized to make a more appealing sound to the ear.

Action packed Movies do the same thing. Add "fake" sound to make it more appealing to your senses.

I think it is awesome to do what most ICE cars can't. If you do want some serenity, simply turn it off and ta da!!!

Funny enough, the propulsion sound is a Platinum only feature on the lightning. PLATINUM.

It was off in the GTPE after the first couple of days of messing around, and it'll never be turned on again in my Lightning.

Btw, the platinum trim exclusive propulsion sound in the lightning is, to my ears, identical to the MME unbridled sound.

I don't see it as an option on my 22 Select. My neighbor says it sounds neat going by, but I barely hear anything except an electronic hum at low speeds.

I’ve never turned propulsion sound on on in my Platinum. Just like I’ve never use the vibrating seats or retractable running boards. I’m still waiting for the Ford invitation for me to bring the truck in to have those deleted items added back on along with a platinum tailgate. I’ll get over it, never.

I like it on. When I first got the car I almost found myself getting a little car sick without it. I think my senses weren't used to a car accelerating silently and it was throwing things off. That said, one of the updates turned it off and I drove for a few days with it off without noticing and was fine. So maybe it was placebo or I just got more used to an EV with time.

But I still prefer it on and sometimes wish it was louder. I like how loud it is in Unbridled but I prefer driving in Engage.

I wish it was customizable and I want a warp speed sound lol. The default sound is awful.

I have only done a couple test drives, and I tried with it on and off. I think it's a neat sound and will probably turn it on in my car when I get it, but I can't promise for how long.

Can this sound be customized? Probably not officially, but more in the "jailbroken" manner if you follow.

Yes. Simply follow these steps:

1) In car menu, turn off propulsion sound.

2) Open both driver's door window and passenger's door window.

3) In a loud voice, yell "VROOM, VROOM".

4) Repeat step 3 until your wife divorces you.

Your neighbor is not hearing your propulsion sound. They're hearing the low speed sound that tells them that an EV is driving by so they don't walk out in front of it.

I leave it on all the time. It’s subtle and useful. I like having the audio feedback of throttle position. It’s just one more sensory input that helps but doesn’t annoy me at all, like some others, apparently.

Off. Always off. One of the silly updates turned it on. Ugh not a good sound. If I have engine sound, it needs to be the rumpity sound of a big duration cam. The kind that makes the neighbors wish they didn’t buy where they did. Otherwise, I want quiet. ??
