Public Charging App

What happened to the Public Charging app on the info screen? It now says we have to go to the Ford Pass to find public charging station. However, the screen then displays low power charging stations. Any ideas?

Ford killed it, we can now only activate chargers through the app, and personally I find this to be the worst mistake they have made so far. the app requires data, and I refuse to get a data plan.

Do you mean "the app" on the infotainment system or the app on your phone?

There is no more app on the in-car system.

Oh gotcha. I just got my 2025 Mach-E last Friday and I swore I saw a public charging option on the infotainment. Now I'm going to have to check for my sanity haha

There is a Public Charging app, but it doesn't do anything anymore.
You cannot activate using it. (I have needed this feature.)
All it does now is present a Find Chargers button.
I use ABRP and Google Maps to find chargers.
The database in the car is going to be behind depending on how it gets updated (if at all).

My 23.5 Premium also will display charging locations with a major exception. It won’t show Tesla stations. I can use the search bar to look for Tesla stations and it will display some but not all of them. For example, it will display a load of Tesla stations in Jersey but none in NoVA or the one in Cumberland MD. In addition “plug and charge” is X’d out on the details for all the Tesla stations. Normally rhat would indicate that feature is not available, although to my knowledge Tesla still has that functionality for Fords. When simply using the locate charging stations function it displays everything, except Tesla. The FP app will display everything including Tesla stations and does indicate plug and charge for the Tesla stations. As others have said, it looks like the public charging app in the vehicle is essentially done and the effort is evidently going into the FP public charging locator. There may be a logical explanation for this but I don’t know what it is.

The in car app used to have the ability to activate the charger you are at, it no longer has such functionality, such things are only available through the phone app now.

Christ almighty this is a game changer….maybe not. Most chargers nowadays are contactless so what’s the problem?
