Do the welcome lights drain 12v battery? I had turned it off at first cause I was annoyed anytime I walked past my car in the garage with my phone or key it would wake up and the lights would come on. I’m worried that if I turn it on the car will “wake up” periodically to search for key fob. Is that a thing?

Yes, but they've limited the number of times it activates so it won't drain the 12V excessively in newer software. Your 2024 should have it, so you can leave welcome lighting on if you'd like.

I definitely see this behavior on my fully updated 22. My welcome lights almost never come on in my garage when I go to my car, I assume because they went on and off too many times as I walked around the house.

But they almost always work when out and about at night in parking lots.
