My guess is to get the full $5k rebate. Only the Select RWD will qualify for the full $5k. Theoretically a Select RWD could've been had for ~$29k all in - $2500 Ford Options, $5000 rebate, and $7500 federal tax credit. It would've been an absolutely smoking deal, but it seems they all now want over sticker price.

This is what I did. Acted quick when the rebate started back up--can't believe it only lasted a couple months! So of course I didn't get my first choice color, but oh freakin' well. Lucky to get any new car these days with any discount at all, government sponsored or otherwise.

I heard the funds are being diverted to more needy causes in the state.

Problem for new buyers is that they won't know it's paused till it's too late.
