Sigh...

You bought a used Mach-E. Did you do a full reset?

Once the driving history is reset, it will learn from your driving OVER TIME. As to driving "using miles", that's a really bad way to look at it. If you want to maximize range, there are dozens of threads to read. You want to precondition with 240v plugged in, and minimize use of heater, use heated seats and steering wheel.

But, with a 20 minute drive, preconditioning is not necessary. Simply do a remote start.

Learn what your vehicle's miles per kilowatt hour are on your commute. That's your efficiency - shows in This Trip.

The Guess-O-Meter (GOM) is much-maligned for being inaccurate, especially if you have just gotten the car. It reassesses its range based on recent driving conditions (speed, outside temperature, elevation changes, etc) and can be somewhat accurate over time. That said, when it has been recently reset, it bases its guess on the EPA rated efficiency. That is rated at a steady speed on the freeway that nobody drives at. Also remember that due to the power conversion efficiency of the electric motor, there is no ā€œsweet spotā€ in the rpm range for best fuel efficiency. Because of this, the faster you go, the worse your efficiency due to aerodynamic drag. ??

Do some searches on the forum for GOM, Guess-O-Meter, efficiency, etc. and you will see a lot of threads on this with a lot of information. ??

Of course i restet it I have it plugged in to 220v I warm up car before I leave for work I would just think it would estimate more accurately like I said my subaru was spot on with estimated range but I ended up totaling it before winter so nothing to compare with temp. It's been really cold this last week in the single digits supposed to be in the 40s this week so we'll see if that changes just doesn't make sense that my 40mike round trip used more than 50% of my battery at that rate I'm only get like 80miles on full range charge . It is a used car and the dealer claims it blue oval certified pre-owned and they're a ev certified service center. But t
Did they screw me does the battery need to be serviced

90 miles of range when the temps are 0°F is about right for the standard range pack. When it’s that cold, make sure you use a departure time before leaving in the morning so the pack is warmer when you park outside all day. Also make sure you aren’t driving too fast, keep speeds below 75 mph. Nothing is wrong with the car, it’s just winter range loss. The Subaru would’ve had the same thing happen in the cold.

ok so yeah today it was 50 degrees out an the estimator was spot on i just figured it was take in the tempature factor and give a more accurate range

It will try to take weather into account. But it will take time to learn the conditions you’re driving in. With the weather changing this time of year, the algorithm can’t really keep up. When you reset, it lost all its weather/condition data so it didn’t know that it’s likely to be cold when you drive. Now it’s warming up, so it will be a bit more accurate.

Do yourself a favor and purchase an ORB 2 reader and an app such as Car Scanner Pro. That way you can read that battery temperature and see what it does on cold winter days. There is a strong correlation between battery temperature and range.
