Rear ended accident! Repairable?

I was rear ended Friday evening on my way home. The car that hit me never even slowed down. Fortunately, the traffic had been going pretty slow so they probably weren't doing more than 20 when they hit me. I have to wait until at least tomorrow before the insurance company will inspect my car and let me know if it's totaled or not. So I thought I'd toss it out to you all and see what you think.

If there is any unibody damages, the repairs will be astronomical.

What % of the repair vs ACV will insurance call it a loss in your state ?

Nobody here can see the extent of frame, or battery damage.

Always a fun game to play, but gotta see the damage under the bumper to be sure.

In general any battery dmg from an accident will mean it’stotaled.

I've seen outward body damage that looked worse which was repairable, (it'll be VERY expensive though) however it all depends on if there is damage to the frame, which we can't really tell from these photos. If there is significant frame damage or the battery housing is deformed at all it is almost certainly totaled.

Our car was rear ended with a little over $14,000 in damage and it was totaled. The insurance company said that it was worth more as salvage. . . Good luck!

Insurance deemed my car repairable. Final estimate: $13,547.12. I hope to get it back tomorrow. It's been a slow process, but I really have no complaints except for it moving so slow. I'll see what it looks like when I actually get it back.

Research diminished value claims. Above and beyond the price to repair the vehicle, the person that hit you (their insurance) is responsible to make you whole for the loss of value now that your car has been in an accident. Research how to come up with that value. I got a check for $8k when a landscaper's lawnmower caused about $3500 in damage.

I'm already working with my insurance company on DV. Unfortunately, the person that hit me, their insurance will not deal with mine until I file the claim with them directly. I'll be working that tomorrow.

Picked up my car last night. Final total $16050. Haven't had time to look it over in detail, yet, but so far looks great.

I did find in the software updates that bc 1.3 has downloaded and not complete. Looking forward to trying it out but don't mind it not being there yet as it gives me a chance to get familiar with bc 1.0 again so I can better see the changes. Hopefully not too long a wait though.
