My tailgate still has this issue. Is there a TSB out there to update the RGTM? Or can I just expect my local dealer to update this for me free of charge?

I had to deal with it about 6 months until I got the update that fixed it. I found that as long as the car was unlocked with the mirrors extended, the liftgate opened properly.

Did ford release a tsb for this yet, I note in the thread as of dec 23 they hadn't. Did you go to the dealer for the update? Or was it an OTA. My 23 has had this issue from day one.

It’s good to at least know what you can do for it to not happen, I learned that earlier this week. However, I was hoping that needing the RGTM update would at least give my dealership a reason to run FDRS on my car and get me up to date with not only that module, but others as well. I figured if there was a TSB for the liftgate that would be my best shot.

We had to wait for the OTA. I believe it was this one.

This has been driving me nuts trying to figure out the pattern to this behavior. Also tried setting height adjustment and poring through the settings looking for "useless button push to raise it 12 inches". 23 GT. Have never had this happen on my 21 Premium.
Just got a 23 GTPE that replaces my 21 Premium. Exact same problem with lift gate. Is yours fixed and if so, do I have to go to the dealer for a fix?

Have the same thing with the hatch in my '23 Premium. Took it to the dealer and they just laughed it off as being one of the car's many quirks.

As long as I remember to unlock the car first, it's a non issue. If I forget to unlock first, it just takes one extra push of the button. It's slightly annoying, but not a deal breaker.

I wasn't aware that Ford has issued a fix for this "quirk" in an update. Maybe I'll get it some day.

Hi Richard! I can look into your Mach-E's tailgate concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

Going through this right now. Mach E GTP currently at dealership. Day one they couldn't find the issue or duplicate problem until I showed up after work and showed the technician. Tomorrow will be day 2. Let's see what happens.

I am having the same issue with the rear liftgate in my 2023 Mustang Mach E Premium as is described in this thread (liftgate opens partially (like 6 inches or so), when using the button on the outside of the liftgate near the license plate; then stops, and I have to press that button a second time to get it to continue to open fully; this happens about 50% of the time when using that button). I purchased my 2023 Mach E brand new in October 2023 and have been dealing with this for over a year now and finally reached the point where I am annoyed enough to look into it. After reading through this thread it is my understanding that priority OTA software update 23-PU0630-RGT-PLO is designed to resolve this issue (and several other owners have reported that this update resolves the issue); how can I tell if that update has been rolled out to my Mustang Mach E? I tried asking Ford directly through this forum and all they did was point me to a local dealer service department, and now they won't respond to me any further. Thanks in advance.

For whatever reason my 23 GT never got this OTA update. An engineer from ford explained that taking it to the dealer and have them update the RGTM (rear gate trunk module) should fix the issue. First Mike G in his "fdrs" thread ran a report which shows mine needs an update. So first go to this thread and post your vin, he or rugedraw will run it thru fdrs system to show if it needs an update. Here's link to that thread. https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...are-willing-to-look-up-info-for-others.10230/

My MME 2021 has been doing this for a year and I’ve been unable to resolve the issue. Does anyone have a solution?
