Following the videos on here made removal of the old wiper simple. The Trico 15G snaps right in but only a single snap. It comes with an adapter to make it double snap but I don’t see any way to fit the adapter into the Mach E arm. Has anyone figured out how to use the adapter?
The correct way to use the adapter is to remove it and throw it away.

1. Remove adapter from wiper blade.
2. Snap wiper blade into arm. One snap.
3. Toss adapter into trash.

1. Remove adapter from wiper blade.

3. Toss adapter into trash.
Adapter now properly installed in the trash can. Shame it wasn't recyclable plastic (not that most plastic is really recycled anyway).

Just to bring the instructions together here. The Ford instructions are in this post

I would like a longer blade too, to clear more of the top part of the window, as the OP notes.

Pull gently outward away from the center mounting post until the "click" (parallel to window), then pull down away from the arm. So, slide to click, then drop away, which might be a second click.

When I just put it back, I kind of got two snaps, first when I pushed it back up over the post (use a flashlight), and second, when I pushed it back towards the post to re-install.

Some Explorer rear blades were just the one down (away) slot click (without the MME first slide parallel to the window to the first click) which may be why some are breaking. Just pushing down, away, like the old Explorer snap lock, would break the plastic over the MME wiper slot and/or the pin and plastic of the arm.

The order is pull right then toward window.
The videos are
Step 1 - This is what seems to be different for MME (and as per @woody next post, 2018 and later Explorer).
Step 2, pull off

Now that I have broken the arm and need to replace it, what is needed after taking the nut off under the cover? Does the arm just pull off the shaft once the nut is removed? Do I need to pry it off with one of those plastic pry bars?

I used a puller, the new arm you buy will have no splines in the metal insert as it makes its own when you tighten it onto the shaft so it's a pretty tight fit. It should come off if you pry it, just be sure to protect the surface at the tip of the pry bar.

Please don’t use a pry bar. Use a puller.

Thanks to the instructions here in this thread, I didn't have any problem removing the original and setting up the new wiper blade!

Here’s a pic of the wiper arm puller I use most often.

I finally got the accessory for my wiper blade and installed it on the blade. Old blade in pic for comparison. ??
