Mine went in a day early, last Wednesday. Today, around 2pm it moved to the bay. About 15min after I text to ask what the status was.

Your dealer sucks. It's a 1-2 day job. Why did they have you bring it in if they were not ready to work on it? Did they give you a loaner? I guess if they did that it isn't horrible. But still.

I feel for you, man.

They gave me a previously repaired Edge, that has a $40k window sticker still in it.
There’s 11 other things I gave them to fix as well as all 4 door panels that are cracked. I had held off taking anything to these guys for 5 or more years. Figured what could go wrong lol.

This morning I dropped off my GT for the recall. They gave me the postcard below. He did tell me it might not be ready until Friday afternoon. But I know they are going to start on it today. I got a loaner but brand new 2023 Edge as well. Pretty nice for a cheap car.

This is the right way to do a recall.

BTW - I really wish I had remembered to take OBDII data just before dropping it off so I can do a before and after. Oh, well. I took a reading last week so that will just have to be close enough.

Dropped our car off this morning for the HVBJB recall. When they scheduled it, the technician mentioned this was the first one they had done at this dealership. He said it would take a couple days, which seemed pretty standard. We were a little nervous it might actually take longer, as we are heading out of town this weekend. So we were kind of mentally preparing for having to get a rental car, or something.

Then the guy called at around 4:00 and said the car was ready to go! They completed a bunch of software updates, replaced the HVBJB, and checked a tire we mentioned had a slow leak (turned out it was a nail, which they repaired). We had to do a software sync when we picked it up, but otherwise everything was fine. We were prepared for the car to be at the dealer for much longer, but only took one day. No mention of the recall gifts or anything, but glad it's finally done.

I tried calling two dealerships today and it sure seams like they aren’t interested in making this easy. Tuttle Click in Irvine, Ca wouldn’t book an appointment until I showed up in person. Villa Ford in Orange, Ca wouldn’t schedule anything until I got a letter for the recal - which I have.
I got a postcard from the dealer I purchased the car from about the recall. I also tried calling Tuttle Click since that's where I've been taking it for service. They gave me the same story about how they need to check out the car first before being able to order the part.
Decided to just call the dealer I got the car from. They said they're still waiting on parts and technician availability but that they have a waitlist going. Sounded fine to me so I just had them put me on the waitlist.

They told me Ford will mail the stuff to me a month or two after the work is competed. It's something about their system getting updated that shows I got the recall completed. So you should get the same thing they said I will be getting. In a month or two.

So not sure if I misunderstood my service manager today but I actually dropped my MME this morning for the HVBJB (proactive) recall that I had scheduled a few weeks ago and they mentioned that Ford is delaying the fix for a redesign. Left it for it for some other recalls. Any details? I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere.

I tried contacting two dealerships, and one told me to contact the parts team and have them order the part, but idk what the part number is for this?

Second dealership told me I need to have an inspection then to see what shows up, and if anything it would be a software update, but if they see a bigger problem, they would then order the parts. Even if I have the recall letter from Ford.

Does any of this seem right?

UPDATE:
- Other dealership told me that they are not working on the recall because FORD has stuff on hold til they decide what they wanna do.

There is no redesign that we currently know about. The third revision of the HVBJB part is known to have been available since November. Prior to that the second revision part was available in June of 2022. ?‍♂?

That doesn't sound consistent with what other dealerships are saying and doing. I suspect your service advisor didn't communicate clearly, or he/she has a misunderstanding regarding the HVBJB recall.

If it counts for anything, they are a Ford owned dealership with a bunch of chargers out front so it feels like they are more with it then an independent dealer who might not be on board with EVs. Will ask again when I pick it up.

I’m losing hope it’s even being looked at, it has moved twice since being left over a week ago.

I was not aware that Ford owns any dealerships. That defeats the purpose of the dealership model.

How many do they own?

My car was finished the same day I dropped it off. I didn't get it back yesterday, because they had to charge it up to 100% and wash it. So I got it back today.

Perfect experience. Seriously.

They also did the harness recall that I didn't know I needed. Cool.
