My vehicle is under the 23S56 HVBJB recall. I received an email from Ford on Monday that parts were now available for my VIN. Called my dealer today to have them order parts. Received a call back and was told that Ford has put a hold on ordering parts and performing the recall work. Was also told they had another MME in for the same recall that they had received the parts and were actively working to perform and when they plugged into the system, were told to stop performing the work. Dealer couldn't or wouldn't tell me what is the cause of the issue.

Now have to wait for Ford to clear up whatever the issue is . . . . .

Saturday (6/8) we finally got the letter to bring in our 2021 Job 1 Premium EX RWD. I plan to call Monday morning to see when they can get us in; we've got a 500 mile trip in three weeks and while we don't road trip/DCFC too often I feel like we've been living on borrowed time.

I believe there were a few stories about some dealers messing up the trim on the car getting to the battery, although (of course) now I can't find those posts. Is there anything we should pay attention to before and after?

I didn't notice anything unusual when they did mine. No messed up trim or anything else. I think the key is a dealer who has done it before.

The service dept at my dealer has been fantastic up to this point, and based on the number of Mach-E's i see in my area I'm assuming they've done a few. Unfortunately, that all hinges on "assuming".

My 21GTPE just died (SSN) so it’s sitting at a dealer service center, so it’s my time too :(

I asked my dealer if they had done it before. And actually they had already done a few prior to the recall.

They had my car for two days, and not even two full days. They gave me a loaner car which I really didn't need, but it made the drop off and pickup much easier. Great experience.

My 2021 MME was serviced last week - Tom Masano Ford (Reading, PA) did an excellent job.
Car was done in a day-and-a-half, they volunteered a loaner car up front, and then washed and topped off my battery when done. Relieved its done and impressed with the service.

The C and E junction boxes for the GT and 4X, respectively, seems to have done the trick. I haven’t heard of any new blown boxes this summer travel season.

There was 1 user on the forum that claimed their E box failed a few months ago. That was the only one I heard of.

Now how do we get 23s part of the recall, I see 23s dying quite a bit, I would love to get a C part proactively...

My guess is that Ford would be unlikely to include 23's in a recall unless/until enough complaints are made to the NHTSA and the NHTSA forces Ford to take action. Then Ford would likely end up having to re-recall all the 21's and 22's that got the part that 23's are built with.

It's a big mess.

The 21s and 22s got a part that the 24s came with. The 23s are on older parts than the recall did.

I didn't know that. Are the 23's using the same part that 21's and 22's were built with, or are they using some intermediate revision?

(I guess it's also possible that different 23's are using different parts depending on their build date.)

The original revised HVBJB for the GT and 4X, B and D boxes respectively, have never been able to hold up. It’s ridiculous that owners have to just sit around waiting for their cars to die and strand them.

Do 2023.5 get the latest version of the boxes?

So I'm guessing the 23 job 1 GT's got the B box? If so, and if Ford adds the early 23's to the recall, they'd have to recall any previous "repairs" done with B boxes. I just can't see Ford doing that unless they are forced to.
