So my lease on my 2023 Mace GT PE ends in late September of this year. As I’ve posted before, I really enjoy driving this car, it really is a lot of fun. But I desire longer range and faster charging. So after much consideration, I went ahead and ordered a BMW iX3. I went with the 20 inch wheels with summer tires, which gives the longest range of 434 miles. I’m assuming that in real life I will not achieve this, but should end up with a lot more range than I currently get with my Mach E. I was hoping that Ford one more car to change the range but so far it’s more or less the same. I got an email from BMW that my order has been accepted. If I’m lucky the new car will be ready just about the time My lease ends. Thanks to all of you. Who have made these boards a great experience. I’ve gotten a lot of good advice from all of you.

Glad to hear you have a 400 mile bladder. Why else would you need more range than a Mach E provides?

Thank you - I found the forum a couple of days ago.

I want a combination of range and fast charging speeds. I live in Northern California, and go to LA area fairly often - I could stop at Harris Ranch or Kettleman City and add a fairly quick 150 miles to make it to LA in one relatively short stop.

Come on, Mark. Having 45% more range allows you to stop and pee, or hit the charger with much faster charging for 10-15 min and add some more range while you pee. As an owner of both the Mach-E and the Lightning, you know the Mach-E charging speed is very slow. More like pee, dump, and eat...

One of the biggest negatives of the Mach-E is the lethargic charging as compared to newer vehicles. What was acceptable 5 years ago is not now, for trips. Locally, who cares.

If Rivian had 800v charging their R2 would slaughter the market.

For fast charging on the Mach E just go ~15% to 60%, it's faster and safer for the battery too

I could never switch to such a boring car; Ford's one pedal implementation especially on the GT is far superior. Ironically I may add a gas BMW if the engine braking is fun

Ford's newest hands on lane centering is likely better as well, as it is over the current BMW ADAS. The IX3 is also incredibly ugly

Nonetheless Ford does need to overhaul charging; it is one of the main things people look at even if in actuality it might not always amount to much

I’m with you on charging speeds. It was the original post about wanting more range that I was responding to.

When was the last time a Mach E was tested at a 250kW+ dcfc in warm weather for 20 to 80% performance? That also means battery temperature recorded at various point during the session. Could it be other brands with 400v platforms achieve faster 20 to 80% times but at greater thermal temperatures. If so does this bring into a question of battery health " down the road"?
