It was not too long ago that it was almost impossible to find a Mach-e on a dealer lot, nevermind having to deal with additional dealer markups over MSRP equating to the thousands of dollars. A recent trip to Tasca Ford in Cranston, RI for some service showed how times have changed. Despite only seeing one Mach-e out front (A vapor blue GT), I spied the rear lot where Mach-e were multiplying. I am not associated with Tasca other than a happy customer and mentioned I am very? active in the forum. So, I wanted to pass along this lead and info to forum members in the area that may be looking for a Mach-e.

HAs anyone else see this type of inventory in their local Ford dealer lots?

The dealer I made my custom GTPE order with back in March has 10 in stock. At that time most dealers had a $5k-6k mark up on GT and GTPE models, so I had used Costco auto program to make my order for $500 below MSRP. Because it was taking too damn long for Ford to make my order (>5 months), I canceled it since I found one in stock at another dealer and they gave me the Costco auto price without markup. My original dealer still has my custom order on their lot 9 months later. ?

My initial take about this "wow, that was a drastic shift" but upon more critical thought, that's distorted. It's good Ford was able to catch up to demand and ensure dealers have sufficient models in stock. This removes another barrier for when a non car or BEV enthusiast shows up to buy a car. Consumer choice is good.

Probably many factors involved reducing demand: higher interest rates, reduction in tax rebate, waning interest (or at least early adopters already in), lower cost options, and perhaps just a general slow down in ability to spend. I do think these next couple years are going to be interesting economically and EV sales to some extent will follow the economy.

I am interested to see what happens to prices when 2024 models start rolling in.

How about a local dealer here in Oregon

WOW! 50 MME's, not sure what is usually held in stock for ICE vehicles, but it seems like a lot.

The Ford dealer closest to me has 10 MMEs and 5 Lightnings in stock. For comparison, they also have 147 ICE F-150s on their lot.

Below, is probably not helping the new inventory move either. If I were shopping today; I'd probably look a used along side the news.

That is just for starters. One of the other dealers in town currently has even more:

+ lower gas prices

Lower prices for Tesla don't help much either.

Two local dealers in my area have 20+ Mach-E's in stock. The two dealers went from having a handful of cars that don't sell to lots overflowing. Its a buyers market for sure right now if financing is not an issue. Over the past year we have switched out a couple of cars along with give our son/DIL a welcome back gift (the family was deployed overseas) and dealers are doing whatever they can to keep you on the lot and make a sale.

2024 is going to be hard on the greedy dealers that is for sure.

I think Mach-E inventory is pretty high but honestly F-150s and Broncos are now stacking up.

The dealership down the street from me is using a Mach-E as a courtesy vehicle and they recently gave me a Lightning as a loaner. The dealer I bought from had 15 to 20 out front last time I was there for service.

Certainly a far cry from a year ago, that's for sure.
