My departure times have never failed me when plugged in. One or two times when unplugged they didn't work.
I only tested one time over the summer, but that remote start did not draw any shore power. I don't claim one test to be conclusive.
I try to be plugged in as much as possible when I'm home and use departure times whenever I'm going out.
Just to clarify in case there's any question, you can set and edit departure times right up to when the preconditioning needs to start.

My experience with power draw is that it does pull from the wall when i remote start, and seems to not or can't keep up with demand when I use departure time. Evidenced by the fact that when i get in the car, the SoC is down to 89 or 88 (from 90).

Not sure if it's waiting to drop below my set max level of 90 before it even starts trying to charge again, or the ford mobile EVSE (on NEMA 14-50) can't keep up.

My remote starts pull from shore power if plugged in.
Did a test the last few days. I was wrong, remote start and pre-condition both pulled from shore power. Remote start actually pulled more weirdly.

I leave the garage 15 minutes after my departure time. The car is always toasty warm.

What does it do if you remote start or schedule a start time outside of scheduled charging times?

That is, if you set it to charge overnight from 11pm to 5am, and schedule a departure for 8am, will it still draw power from the EVSE?

Yes it will. That is actually 3 screenshots stitched together. The charging was overnight. The departure and remote start were in the afternoons.

What were the cabin temp settings for the two events? Over the summer when I was using Cool the draw was much greater than it is now that it has cooled down and I'm using Medium. I think I still have remote start climate set to Auto but I'll have to check.

I noticed that too. Departure was set to Medium, Remote set to Auto. The auto was probably trying to get it warmer.

Huh, leaving work won't be too much of an issue for me on most days. Our low temps aren't that low and our high temps aren't that high for the most part. Perhaps during the winter it will be a little cool to the point where I want the seat and steering wheel heat on and during the summer a little warm to where I might want the A/C to pre-cool the cabin. Or I might just drive with the windows down on a hot day. And maybe wear my wet suit on a cold one. ?

Through the Sync screen in the car. Your choices are last setting or auto.

How did you create that graphic? Do you have a version showing the complete X-axis for Pre-condition and Remote-Start?
What is "shore power"? Wall power?

That was pulled from my ChargePoint app. I composited them together with photoshop. I don’t have a full graph, but it doesn’t look much different on the other side, it drops rapidly. The thing I haven’t tested for is climate temp. That will cause the usage to vary widely. Both cabin climate settings and exterior temp needed to condition the battery.
Yes shore power is wall power.
