Repeated shipping delays

Ordered 2023 GTPE on 5/11 with a projected build date of week of July 3 and delivery date of 8/15-8/21.

Reality is every step has incurred delays…actual build date was July 28, so no worries just a few weeks behind schedule. We’ll add on three weeks of sitting on a lot outside of the factory and an actual ship date of 8/18. Again, just a few more weeks behind schedule. However, the Ford web site adjusts the projected delivery date about 2-3 times per week fluctuating between 9/9 to 10/9. As of today, it is projecting 9/26-10/9. I called the dealer I ordered through and they said it is on a rail car with a last know location of Kansas City. There is a lot of dealer inventory where I live in San Diego and I am wondering if reduced deliveries to dealers is impacting my shipment.

So there is the story…are other people on this forum seeing similar delays and constantly readjusting delivery dates? I have not (yet) gone down the rabbit hole of attempting to track myself but have read that others have tracked by rail and car carrier the locations for their order. What are peoples experience with tracking outside of Fords web site?

Ordered mine in May 2021. Received it in May 2022. Yes, there are hundreds, if not thousands of people, some of them posting here, with the same issues.

Truckers go on strike. Railcars are scarce. Trains derail and destroy cars. Parts are there to finish them.

got my first mach e may of 21. At that time it was possible to track the rail transport on palsapp. It seems now they've even shut down the hack to access rail info now so it doesn't appear anyway to get it, although I have heard the Fordchat can give you details.

My GTPE shipped august 22 and the latest date range for arrival which hasn't changed (last update 9/8) is 9/13-9/26. I'm assuming it'll arrive in that window, my first one actually came in several days BEFORE the earliest arrival predicted.

There is a serious shortage of autoracks dating back to the early part of this century. These railcars take a long time to build and are stunningly expensive. In addition, there is a manpower shortage of railway workers and long-haul truck drivers. The end result is pretty much what you're experiencing. Only you can decide if it is worth abandoning your reservation for one on hand.
