I definitely wasn't doing it fast enough.Follow the instructions. If they don't mention "foot", do nothing with foot.
I tried everything suggested but it still doesn't work. How fast did you speed things to get it to program? I have a working frunk through Sync4 and the B-pillar key pad, but the F150 5 button fob with fresh battery doesn't program. Suggestions welcome. Thanks. thanksI definitely wasn't doing it fast enough.
Once I sped up the operations, I saw the "Door code [xxxxxx]" as the 2nd FOB was recognized.
Then when I inserted the new FOB and pressed start one last time, it immediately said "Key Programming failed" in an orange popup on the IPC.
Its a 5x button F-150 FOB that I bought online, and I wanted to get the frunk button to operate.
Did you get an answer to your question?I’ve reviewed the procedure to program a third FOB when you have two original keys (procedure below). My question is what if the FOB is already programmed? The instructions say new unprogrammed fob. Can I follow this procedure to program an already programmed FOB?

Neither success nor fail message after 2nd FOB showed factory door code.If I recall, there is one last message that comes on the IPC after the factory door code is revealed. I think its something to the effect of "FOB programming failed" (or a success message).
Did you get either of those messages?
Reboot sync before trying one more time. That was my problem, and sync reboot fixed it.Neither success nor fail message after 2nd FOB showed factory door code.
I am thinking 3rd fob being already programmed to another car is the problem for me.
You can use a previously programmed key, I've done it.I’ve reviewed the procedure to program a third FOB when you have two original keys (procedure below). I was getting a FOB programming failure on my 3rd FOB until I rebooted sync. It was not apparent from the error message that a reboot was required but afterwards, the programming was accepted on the first attempt. How do you reboot synch. I have gotten the factory door code after the second key and the fob programming failure message after the third so I am hoping a sync reboot helps me as well.
I've tried to program one of the original fobs from my 21 so I could use it in my 23. Even replaced the battery. After 6+ tries, it still won't program. I followed the instructions exactly. Even turned the key on its head thinking that might help. Is there something else I can do to program the key before I go to the dealer? I must be missing something. ThanksYou can use a previously programmed key, I've done it.
Bigger problem is that you need a dealer if you only have 1 key. Buy a 4th key and get that programmed.
There are a couple of sets of instructions out there. One says to wait between keys for a few seconds, the other says to not wait. I failed when waiting but when I rapid-fired the keys it programmed just fine. ?‍I've tried to program one of the original fobs from my 21 so I could use it in my 23. Even replaced the battery. Thanks. Do you have the instructions for the rapid fire programming? Too many time frames. Do I still wait 5 seconds for each key? Or do I just push the start/stop button rapidly for each key and then immediately change keys? Confused. There are a couple of sets of instructions out there.
