The flip side: Toyota just sent me a letter saying that there's an update available for my car. This is the update they finally made available in the US almost 3 months ago, but I only know it was available Thanks to online forums. Moot point, since I sold that car a week prior to the update being made available, but I am so much happier with Ford's efforts to improve the software in our cars than Toyota's. Sure, I would love to see it as good as Rivian's, but I can be patient.

Ford and GM send out their trucks with tow mode when they are new. Rivian is in catch up mode. My Rivian got this OTA today, but it still has a terrible nav system and trip planner.

FYI, the MME cannot tow anything.

No kidding. When the OP asked why we can't get cool stuff like this in our MME's, I assumed he was talking about the clarity and detail of the release notes.

The way they handled it and quickly communicated is something Ford has shown us they can’t do.

Within an hour or 2 of issue found they pulled the update. Only likely 10% at most impacted and vehicles can be driven. for those impacted my bet is Rivian makes it right as best they can.

It is an issue that can and will happen with software updates. However my R1T is a way better Truck in 11 months than when I bought it. I had no idea we would get so many great updates.

And I get all excited when I see iOS updates for FordPass which is always glitchy for me?
