Oh no! Just got my Mach E about month ago and left for a business trip on Sunday only to find my rotors rusted solid when I returned on Thursday.

I put it in reverse with no movement and sat there for a bit. Finally, had no choice but to give it some throttle and ca-chunk. It started to move but now there is a loud thumping as the wheel turns. Drove it real slow to the dealer, but they said they can't get me in for even a diagnoses until Sept. 12th, almost three weeks from now.

Originally was hoping is was just a little rust, but it hasn't gone away and I'm not going to drive it anymore in order not to make it any worse. I'm open to ideas just don't think it should happen after a little rain and sitting for a few days.

Was the car freshly washed when you left? Rust on the rotors is normal after they get wet. I’m normally take mine girls drive, turn off 1pd drive and do a couple of “panic” stops on a quiet road. If, however, there’s stuck pad material etc, the link @generaltso posted will help.

After washing, I drive slowly, then shift to neutral, and brake (not stomp on the brakes). Repeat a few times, pads are dry.

And I don't use AutoHold.

Is it a 2022 or a used one? I thought they fixed this problem with newer brake pads.
Yeah it was a Job1 2021 problem. Not sure if any Job2 2021s were affected. My October 15 production (started Oct. 11) GT-PE was supposedly not affected. ??

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
