I’d settle for software that doesn’t raise anxiety levels every time I drive the car. It’s a shame- Love the car otherwise.Software that works better?
Yikes! The shop at the dealership said that several other modules are dead?I did all that. It's not the screen. 3/4 of car is dead.
If it were just the screen the radio controls and such would work fine. They don't. No one pedal, no blue cruise, no environmental, no audio, no usb power, no Bluetooth phone connectivity, ford pass has no idea where the car is , etc..Yikes! If everyone fixes their problems with reseting the system, Ford will not know of all these issues and it will take them longer to fix them. When my car is under warranty I take it to the dealer for everything that is not working as it should. Ford should pay those warranty claims and hopefully that will make them improve things. Before you ever take a mache to the dealer. Always disconnect the 12 volt battery for a minute. It is like rebooting your WiFi, your Iphone, your computer.
Depending on whether or not you got the latest 1.7 update, it's quite possible that your car is in the midst of getting the update now. I say this because there is a known issue where in the midst of the update the screen goes black (looks like it's dead) particularly in daylight, but in fact the brightness is actually extremely dim. This corrects itself when the update is completed and fully applied. So my one month old GT hasn't had any problems until yesterday. Was backing up out of driveway and car smashed on brakes and gave alert that cross traffic was there. But there was nothing. Fast forward to today and car gave 1 pedal driving error and synch screen completely dead. Tried the reset and didn't help. Any ideas??
Thanks
This had nothing to do with screen brightness. All controls were dead, Bluetooth, usb ports dead, fordapp doesn't know where car was, etc...Depending on whether or not you got the latest 1.7 update, it's quite possible that your car is in the midst of getting the update now. But the workaround in the meantime (if this is your issue) is to use the physical display brightness keys near the headlight control knob to increase the brightness when this happens, or changing the headlight settings with that knob.
It's a weird quirk, but it's happened to me and been mentioned by many others whose vehicles were in the midst of updating, but not yet fully updated. It could take a few days to complete.
Tried 10,000 times. Nothing to do with screen itself. Whole module wasn't getting power. You can reboot the screen on the fly by holding the volume down button and the track forward button at the same time for 10 seconds. Unfortunately, my screen crashes at least once a week. Fortunately, it's a 10 second fix.

When you say “crash” do you mean blacks out or freezes? Curious because i’ve has the issue of mine blacking out so can’t use your track forward reset option. Do you know a reset option if the screen is black but “working?” ThxYou can reboot the screen on the fly by holding the volume down button and the track forward button at the same time for 10 seconds.
