I love the car... no issues yet on my MME GTPE... smoked a GT 5.0 yesterday for fun...104 degrees outside... Any manufacturer with a "new model" release... this is normal... Tesla has problems with heat pumps, air conditioning, misaligned panels... a huge problem with parts distribution and propriety software (where is your nearest Tesla center?). Not to mention, they are ranked one of the lowest in reliability. You literally need a second car if something happens to your Tesla... it will be gone for months. Ford will work out the bugs... it actually sounds like an LG issue with the prismatic pouch batteries... maybe, they should have used 18650's instead. My thoughts are... I'm going to drive it until the wheels fall off... and make use of the 8 year battery warranty... hopefully, they can figure out a software solution for this... to keep the contactors cooler... I would challenge, there a difference in the "one pedal" mode... with all that resistance... I turn it off.... I hate the feel of it... feels like the brakes are always on. Not to mention, it has Brembo's... might as well use them... not trying to upset anyone... it's a great car... enjoy it... and have a little faith... Ford will take care it...

You’re going to get some blowback from enthusiast and those that want to stand for the vehicle. I’ve experienced almost everything you say and it’s all true. A $60,000 car should never strand you and no repairs should take more than a week. I have two more on order but I am planning on canceling one and getting a hybrid maverick pick up on order in August when those books open and waiting for my next EV a little longer. I know I can sell the MachE so I’m going to take delivery if they could build it and give it a couple months if it gives me any grief ….it’s sold

Jes sayin. Anyone check out that the VinFast Vietnamese EV’s. I dropped a deposit down for one of those to check it out as well all refundable

Here’s the link

Thankfully we have had no issues, then again - since no issues I have not updated anything or even tried.why mess with when it its good!Everybody needs to remember we are job 1/2 and the guinea pigs- we could have waited till all wrinkles worked out to a few normal minimum, but we didnt.

Reading this thread, it’s clear that:
  • There are still issues to be worked out with dealers and customer service skills
  • Some people probably shouldn’t be buying the first model year of a totally new vehicle, no matter which manufacturer
Happily, I haven’t had major issues - just some software updates that had to go through a few times, the roof and windshield recall, and the missing remote frunk release. I’ve been pleased with both the build quality and performance of the vehicle.

Complicating things, it sounds like the laptop retains data from the specific car, and so a different laptop was needed in order to reinstall previous data packets
I really hope that there is a better way to clear the laptop from the previous car data than getting a new laptop ?

I was stranded twice, both times after about a year of ownership and ~20,000 miles. Although it's fixed and I honestly still like the car, I'm a bit stressed out about the potential for it happening again; especially since I road trip a lot. I ended up purchasing a BMW i4 M50 (pictured below) and the Mach E (while still sitting in my garage) has been sold via Driveway for about $4,000 more than I bought it for. Hard to pass up that kind of deal and to get another $7,500 tax credit on another EV.

I will say this about Ford: they made a compelling EV, and my experience with the Mach E got me hooked on EV tech; I will never go back to gas.

In the meantime, I have another new toy to enjoy. Wicked fast on the road and a great charging curve. I'll come back to Ford for our next EV (my wife's next car replacement).

I test drove one... it was just awesome...the i4... loved the "sport boost" propulsion sound... I pre ordered an i7... we'll see when that comes through.

Yeah. I’m willing to give them another shot despite 2 really bad experiences simply because I was able to make a little money And feather the nest. I don’t think either one of mine are going to be 2022s I think they’re gonna fall over to 2023 because they’re Feb 22 orders. And I bet they are at least 6 K more as 2023’s I’m gonna find out from the dealer in August when the order books open up what I can expect at that point but it looks like they are months and months behind their 2022 build schedule
Jes sayin. Who knows nowadays?

Nice! The i7 will turn heads, no doubt. The i4 actually blends in a bit more (doesn't attract as many stares as the Mach E). I miss the attention, to be honest.

I was thinking... wet down a parking lot and see if it'll do some donuts without the traction control on.... By the way, seems to be the fastest in "Engage Mode" and "one-pedal" mode off... if I do... I'll post it...

I never thought of that... but, makes sense... the i4 would blend in a bit more... the i7 might end up out of price range too... I usually negotiate down... it'll be a last minute decision like the GTPE... The dealer told me... that another Ford dealer was going to pay them an additional 8k for it ... if I didn't buy it ... it's on order... the i7... no ETA ... they took my deposit. I bought the 750i out of the lease... The MME GT has saved me over 900.00 in fuel savings so far...

Be careful. Some people did that in the snow and the car had to go into service after going into turtle mode.

Right? But for now, that isn’t the case. The tech kept trying to reinstall the failed data packets, but since his laptop had reported an overall successful update installation, it wouldn’t let him reinstall. It took another tech’s laptop to get to reinstall the update with the failed data packet.
