Mach-E's do get OTA updates.

It's just that most aren't valued because Ford doesn't explain enough about each one to the recipient.
And it’s not like this changes if you go the FDRS route. I have a ABS update visible currently…what does it do?

????

What do all these FDRS updates I’ve done do??? More better!

Ford could push a weekly update that says “bug fixes, improved software” that is an empty file and most the people wanting updates would be happy lol.

Now a GUI update? Then people notice something changed.

I don’t usually complain on here but I have a 2021 GT and it has not had a software update in a year now! I have everything set the right way. I’ve checked it countless times. Everyone else I know that has a 2021 has a screen that looks completely different because they get updates. Why is it so hard to make a system that pushes updates out in order and regularly? Every other auto maker seems to have a pretty good system for this. Ford just is horrible at it. Any tips or ideas to get this turd to update?

If there’s something in your car that is not working and you think you need an update, take it to your dealer and let them put in on their computer system. If on the other hand the car works fine, then why be so upset?

Because it takes personal time, not everyone has as competent dealers/tech near them as others and the dealer is going to charge for diagnostic whether there is something to be done or not.

OTAs were/are supposed to make it easier. And it is when it works, but the transparency and comms from Ford is... lacking sometimes.

My last OTA update was June 10, by the way.

Seriously, if you want updates just because you want updates that's not realistic. If there is something wrong with your car, don't expect an update to fix it. Go in for service. Rent a car if you have to while it's in.

I’ve lost track of mine.

but, seriously, some OTAs were designed exactly for this, not just for ”silly“ improvements owners want. Like the hvb contactor issue, which eventually/ultimately led to the HW recall.

just “rent a car” sounds like a privileged and entitled response. That’s even one more step and more money.

Yea, well, if I wasn't "privileged and entitled," I'd be driving a '92 Civic, and so would you. :)
Like I said, if there is something wrong with your car go see a dealer. If there is nothing wrong with your cvar and you just want more updates, well - it's not a video game.

Eh, the two are not the same. I have no entitlement to an EV (and my service compared to ICE should not be sub-par by now). I am privileged to afford an EV but, honestly, it was not much more expensive than some other options at the time. It was a choice all the way..: my 200k+ mile Accord ran fine.

But as to a previous comment, some people just don’t know if they should have an update or not- for something functional and/or preventative or to obtain a more equitable driving experience as a slightly newer model.

Taking the car to dealer just to check if something is available/optional/required is a hassle (as it has been for me for some required services). And Ford may have created some optics, comms and PR issue by making it seem they could deliver OTAs reliably.

Ford is still a car company, first, and learning how to do software delivery well.

Find a Ford buddy with a Mongoose.

You buy the tacos, Dos Equis, and the 48hour license. He updates your Mach-E with whichever updates you desire. ?

Way more enjoyable than dealing with a dealership.
Make it easier by having a list of regional owners with the equipment to install Blue Cruise 1.3 on our vehicles.

I got 23-PU0110-RAD-PS! Yay! Now when I get BlueCruise 1.3 (or 1.5!) my radio presets won’t get mucked up!

What's In This Update?

Ford Power-Up

An update that's music to your ears.

Just a quick note to let you know some refinements have been made to keep things running at their best. This update addresses the issue where radio presets have been affected during vehicle software updates. Talk about something to sing about.

Ford Power-Up delivers software updates that are designed to make your Mustang® Mach-E® electric vehicle better over time.

A wise user on this forum explained why I was not getting OTA updates- because I had all of my modules updated at the dealer. Be careful getting module updates at the dealer. When you do that, the Ford cloud sees a car that is updated, so it quits sending OTAs. Interestingly enough, the dealer updates are not necessarily equal to the OTAs. My advice is to make sure your car is communicating with Ford and wait for your OTAs. I haven't received an OTA in a year. And I recently I had my modules updated again by the dealer. So I might go another year without an OTA because I didn't understand how it works.

And it also appears that GUI updates only come OTA. I updated my call fully in July. I still have the 6.3 UI and nothing shows a way to get it otherwise. I've left the car running for 12+ hours in attempt to get an OTA.
