Interesting. I guess that's one downside to not having front license plates. Though it doesn't say anything about charging spaces. I wouldn't be surprised if they're exempt.
Actually I would be surprised if they’re exempt.

The whole point is so that law enforcement can see your license plate to enforce parking laws.

Parking garages, paid parking and yeah EV parking would be the places this would matter the most for enforcement.

That said, I don’t think it’s a law that’s widely enforced.

You know, I'd like to think that those who opt to enter the world of BEVs are the enlightened, the automotively savvy. But the realty is if you were, shall we say, "less sophisticated" when you drove an ICEV, chances are nothing will change when you start to plug in ??‍♂.

The cars are smarter. Clearly we are not ?

All the chargers in Las Vegas that I used were level 3 chargers. The hotel I stayed at did not have any Level 2 chargers (that I was aware of).
Las Vegas should incentivize more chargers. The best ones are by the outlet mall south of the strip. Next best is Caesars Palace indoor mall but those stay busy.

At the police station in my town the cops use the charging spots as overflow. I think the town has one ev now? The beat cops have rejected it so i think it is marked as code enforcement which seems fair. I will maybe see if i can get a picture
This charger is in the parking lot of a large house used as city hall. I went in and asked about moving the truck. Response - "He's in a meeting, I'll mention it to him when he comes out". Anyway, we live right outside of the town limits, so at least we don't pay them any taxes.

PHEV owners paid extra for the ability to not use gas when they don't need to. They have just as much right to use plugs as anyone else with a plug-in vehicle. I would hope that PHEV owners would have the courtesy to not occupy a congested station, but expecting them to stay away from empty L2 plugs just because there's a chance that a BEV might wander in is silly, IMO.
This is an entirely hypothetical (to me) situation that has never happened to me in real life. I stand by my statement that, if I was in desperate need of charging and the only practical available charger was occupied by a car that runs on Dino-juice, I’d be sad.

Then it's moot because almost no PHEVs support DCFC at all. The Outlander has CHAdeMO, but that never made sense to me since gas would be faster and likely cheaper for a PHEV on a road trip.
Too true, did 140,000 miles in a PHEV Outlander and never once even considered a CHAdeMO charge on the road!

Pointless was my view.

For F sake. I thought red states were all for limited government, let me live my way, don’t tell me what to do. Telling people not to back in to parking spots seems counter to all that. This is unconstitutional lol!!!
Again, not a statewide rule.

FWIW, there are no red states. Just blue cities and “everywhere else.” ?

I would love to read the version of the constitution that protects our “freedom to park.” ?

I’ll take this dumb unenforced rule over an ugly front license plate though.
