Early owner, lots of miles. Ford learnt a lot from a couple of early failures on my car. It has really settled down and drives well. Live in a sea of teslas in BC Canada. And a growing river of Mach-e.
Would do it again. Enjoy your car.

'23 UK Mach E owner here.

This is a f*kn awesome car. You are going to love it. Welcome to the community! Be sure to gleefully wave at your fellow Mach E drivers on the road, we're a supportive bunch :)

(PS - the '23 model is a huge improvement on previous years. Sad as it is for them, early adopters went through recalls so we didn't have to)

I just moved to Florida and pur a home in a very environmentally Conscious neighborhood. On impulse without any research or thinking about tomorrow, I purchased a Mach E and joined this forum. I have watched hours of YouTube videos and now I am wondering if I should have purchased a Tesla. Seem there are innumerable problems with long distance traveling, and with the car itself. I would like to ask the Mach E community if they had a do over would they still buy the Mach E. I have Less than 1500 miles on my car and am already getting alarms intermittently. For me it isn’t to late to change. I don’t need problems.
We have had our '22 Mach-E GTPE for a little over one year, and have had zero issues. The car drives great and nothing has gone wrong. Everything has worked the way it is supposed to. We charge only at home, so charging locations are not an issue. We have a Subaru that we use if we drive long distances. If I had only one car, it would not be an electric car until the range increases and reliable charging availability increases. But as a second car, that we use for everything except trips over 100 miles one-way, the Mach-E has been great.

After buying a 2023 GT, I, like a lot of buyers, questioned the purchase after a few weeks. But, as time has past and now I'm close to 10k miles, I really think it was the right decision. I commute twice a week, 190miles round trip. Only charge at home. And have had zero issues with my car.
Everyone who rides in it seems honestly impressed with the ride and quality.
Yes the infrastructure isn't the best, but it's improving every month.
All in all, I'm very pleased with my Mach E GT.

I’m 4000 miles in with my CalifRte1. I live in upstate NY. I love the car. Love the tech. Love learning about electronics and EV technology. Enjoy regenerating instead of braking. Design, cabin and fit and finish are all first rate. I’m sure I may have issues some day, I know winter will be a challenge, but don’t regret buying it.

I have read about all the issues on this forum but I can only speak to my experiences. I currently have 30,000 mi on my 2022 premium standard range . I haven't had any mechanical or electrical issues as of yet . I've made numerous trips from northeast Ohio. To Southern Ontario. Three to four and a half hour drives without any issues. Maybe I'm lucky , or other people are just unfortunate but a year and a half and 30k miles and I'm just elated with my purchase. In the beginning I was worried that I made a mistake not spending the money for the extended range, but now I'm glad I saved the money as it hasn't been necessary for me.

If the price is right, I would purchase one if it were not my main driver. If it were my main driver, I would not purchase an EV unless I drove it mainly without relying on an EV infrastructure so to speak. (99 % of the time it stayed local)

If you are wanting an Electric Car that will be your main driver and you plan on taking it on long trips, I would consider a PHEV over a BEV.

The nice things about EV's now is that they tanked in price. Buy low and sell high. ;)

As a 2021 GTPE owner very few problems in 17500 miles except 12v and susp fault with dealer software update fixed the problem. Thats it for now. We tried a few trips but the chargers in PA are not depenable, many dont work and slow. In Apr we bought a 2023 Model Y AWD long range custom paint and 20 rims for $53000 minus full tax credit. Its great for traveling with superchargers almost everywhere and they work. I have the GTPE and wouldn't trade it for anything. Wife loves the Y. Both very enjoyable. Good luck with the mme.

I read the forum often and fear having problems, but my 2023 (Jan2023) has been great so far. With respect to charging networks, Ford inked a deal with Tesla to use their super-charger network I think starting in Feb 2024, so that should help long distance traveling (and piss off Tesla owners!)

All of that being said, EVs are still relatively new (I waited 3 yrs to buy my MachE) and I expect prices/values to drop as competition heats up, and as with anything heavily electronic, the EVs of today might want to be updated sooner and an ICE car...

Go for it. I have read almost all of the remarks on your inquiry.
I own a 2021 Job 1 premium EX.
30K on the odometer, trouble free.
Yes, not one problem. Yes....no issues. Haven't any issues with the windshield or moon roof either. I will be getting my HVBJB replaced in a week. Not afraid to climb the mountains of SC or NC or drive it to the coast. Every trip I get more comfortable on my long trips, and it is getting better. My Mach E is staying with me. No buyers remorse from me the last 2 1/2 years. It is having plenty of good company with my Lightning and a Mustang GT convertible.
I am one of the first adaptors and haven't looked back since then.
It met all my expectations and I am completely satisfied.
Ford and my Ford dealer has taken good care of my Mach E and my family.
From my biased opinion.....Go for it.

I recommend putting the ford charger back in your trunk for emergency use. We installed a emporium charger on a 50A breaker (charges 40a). I picked Emporium charger as well as the monitor they sell because I am a geek about stuff like this and like to see my power usage.
Plus I can set my charger so if the peek home usage goes above a number I set the charge output will turn down based on my total usage (I have 150A service).
If I was to ever buy solar I could use the emporium to charge my car using only excess solar energy. What I do is only make one setting in the car, charge to 90%, than I set my charger to only work between midnight and 6am. This way if my Wife needs to charge on the road all she has to do is "plug in" (KISS). My electric company in central florida gives me $7 rebate if I agree to charge between midnight and 6am. I see your electric company has an offer where they will supply the charger. (looks expensive to me but it does include an outlet) but you could call to see if they offer a discount in electric if you use your own charger to the offpeak times.

I do not usually participate in forums. But in trying to know and understand my purchase, I have read hundreds of request for information on solving problems, so my question was meant to find out if these problems would influence the next EV purchase. Here in southern Florida, I have never seen so many Teslas. I guess the charging system is an influencing factor. My history with other Ford ICE products have been no complaints.
Teslas are also cheaper and qualify for the tax credit.

Are you skipping the posts in various topic threads from the legions who love their MME? (l'm among them) Why not just keep driving and let your actual experience inform your next decision?

I live in Florida half the year, and my daughter lives here full time. We both have electric cars and she has one with a relatively low range, and still has not ever had problems getting anywhere or charging on the go. It's just something you get used to, and like others have said, gets better as time goes on.

I own a lot of cars and have been an enthusiast my entire life. I was interested in Teslas until I had experiences with them. Tesla owners can be a very loyal bunch, but they have had to endure quality issues that are reminiscent of the old Yugos of the 80s. Body parts literally falling off while they drive, a steering wheel coming off while on the road (!!), bricked cars, or simply dying without explanation - and the service process for Tesla is a joke.

All these electric cars are extremely new technology and will have problems other cars do not, but to add basic quality issues that literally no other modern car manufacturer could have and still stay in business is not a great trade off for a more comprehensive charging network - which, as of next year, should be the standard for all electric cars, so charging anywhere a Tesla does will be the same for all EVs, essentially.

Is the Mach E the best car ever? Not by a long shot. Is it the best EV out there? Not really. Is it better than any Tesla? Objectively, it's not even a debate, it's a fact. In the end, it will probably give you the same amount of problems as any other modern car with modern quality standards (again, Tesla does not have modern quality standards), meaning you will have issues, you will have frustrations, you will lose money when you sell the car - it's nothing special at all, and now that EV's are no longer "cool," they are losing value dramatically. It's just a car, but it's better than a Tesla.

I purchased my 2022 MME Select in April 2022. Almost 26,000 miles later, the vehicle has performed flawlessly--probably the best vehicle I have ever owned.
We're so glad to hear that and appreciate you sharing. We'd love to see some pictures of your Mach-E!
