I just moved to Florida and pur a home in a very environmentally Conscious neighborhood. On impulse without any research or thinking about tomorrow, I purchased a Mach E and joined this forum. I have watched hours of YouTube videos and now I am wondering if I should have purchased a Tesla. Seem there are innumerable problems with long distance traveling, and with the car itself. I would like to ask the Mach E community if they had a do over would they still buy the Mach E. I have Less than 1500 miles on my car and am already getting alarms intermittently. For me it isn’t to late to change. I don’t need problems.

I personally think Teslas are terrible cars with a good charging network. The quality and QA is low and that's why they can be bought for a lower price. With that said, the Tesla charging network is opening up to Ford shortly and will make that a non-issue.

I also live in Florida and have not had any issues with charging since I got mine in January for what that's worth. Probably depends where in Florida you are but South of Orlando is pretty solid.

What alarms are you getting?

I have a 2022 Premium and love it.

May not be a perfect car (are there any perfect cars anywhere?), but I haven’t had issues.

Non-Tesla’s get a bad rep for charging because stations are sometimes harder to come around or they’re not in great state, but with Ford moving to the Tesla charging standard and supposedly providing us with adapters when that happens, the issue should be non-existent.

If you can’t wait you can get an adapter for Tesla Destination Chargers (does not work with superchargers).

Just like people have issues and complain about the Mach-E you can find countless of people complaining about Tesla quality. I don’t have a Tesla so I won’t comment on it, but online communities will usually steer towards the negative as people are more vocal or are seeking help.

Yes, the HVBJB has been an issue, but seems Ford is finally (perhaps being forced) to replace the part for those affected (I’m in the batch, haven’t had the original part go bad luckily).

You should switch to Tesla. If online crap sways your decisions, you can't handle a Mach-E.

i Live in Babcock Ranch just outside of Ft Myers. There is a Tesla Dealer 8 miles away and a huge amount of Teslas in garages around here and few other EVs. Maybe they have as many problems. I have been a Ford truck guy all my life so bought Mach E. There are a huge amount of complaints on the earlier models, jus wondered if those problems have been taken care of in the 2023. I bought additional service for 5 years or 60 k miles so most costs are eliminated but don’t want to spend a lot of time in the shop. Also wondering how knowledgeable the dealers are with new technology. I guess it is a little late to be worrying now.

Sport, I appreciate your response, but my question was a simple one and just trying to get information. Jeep lovers are totally loyal but according to consumer report, are the most unreliable of brands.

We've done lots of long road trips and never had a big issue charging. Of course, we are in the western US and things change depending on where you are doing your road trips.

In addition, sometime early next year, the Mach-E will be able to charge at many Tesla SuperChargers.

Don't be fooled and think Teslas are problem free. I've ridden and driven enough Teslas to tell you that the Mach-E build quality is way better. Almost every Tesla that I have been in has creaks or rattles somewhere. I have two friends that absolutely love their Teslas but they have also had complete battery failures -- one of them is on his third battery pack.

i had to take a long trip so am driving my wife’s hybrid. She tells me alarms go off then reset. It happens so fast she doesn’t have time to record. Will be home soon and will check it myself.

You bought a nice car. I've had my Mach E for over 52 thousand miles... drove it coast to coast this Summer and all over on other trips. It works, it is well-designed and it looks good and handles well. Relax, and enjoy it.

I’ve decided to use it locally and purchased a charge for my garage. The ford unit is intermittent in its operation and dealer did not have a spare one. Guess I’ll wait un next year.

You did not make a mistake.

This site can scare you, yet at the same time educate you about your car if something does happen.

No issues here, remember a forum is where people come mostly to talk about problems they’ve had. You’ll find complaints on the Tesla forums as well.
I do not usually participate in forums. But in trying to know and understand my purchase, I have read hundreds of request for information on solving problems, so my question was meant to find out if these problems would influence the next EV purchase. Here in southern Florida, I have never seen so many Teslas. I guess the charging system is an influencing factor. My history with other Ford ICE products have been no complaints.
