As we get closer to the dreaded winter season, I wanted to see what everyone’s recommendations were for removing snow and ice off the car?

I have an old brush/scrapper combo that needs to be retired, also a foam brush that works ok, but is a bit clunky for fine snow removal.

What does everyone prefer to limit scratches and reach the roof to clear all the snow off?

I live in Southern California. No snow to worry about and rarely need to worry about rain, so just move here. Problem solved! :p

Stored in garage. Standard brush that extends. Key is to not pull ice off painted surfaces.

I park in a garage, but I have to drive in blizzards regularly to abs from work. The extendable brush is something I’ve looked in to.

Thanks! I like the idea of the foam instead of a brush.
Well, the only problem I see with the foam is that it has a larger potential to trap large debris like bugs, road salt, etc. Be careful about scrubbing your car with that.

Precondition to max temp; snow will melt right off.

I use a SNOW JOE, or some foam thing, like this one anyway, seems like some version of SNOW JOE usually goes on sale for around $10 every year. I also buy another one to replace the foam part on my very large telescoping yellow composite pole that I use to clear the solar panels (lots of vertical bolt ends tear it up pretty good every year, no matter how careful I am).

Definitely don't scrape close to the finished surface, just push / pull off the bulk, maybe leaving 1/8" to a 1/4" which will usually clear by itself, or if wet snow, it just slides off in bulk anyway.

Funny, speaking of winter, I just had my 225 Michelin X-ice SUV snow tires put on the 19" OEM rims today! But, I won't put them on MME yet, probably not for another month or so.

Well, up until last week... ?? The Colts and Niners didn't seem to be enjoying the 'atmospheric river'.
