Check your audio settings, stereo vs. surround mode. It may have changed after the update. Surround uses the center speaker. If you have been using stereo mode previously, you may not realize the center speaker is blown.

You can try disconnecting the 12V battery, but if the center speaker still sounds bad, it may need replacement.

Thank you for the idea. It does seem to lessen the "distortion" for music and talk shows, but the notification chimes sound awful no matter what the setting. I guess I'm going to have to replace the center speaker. Very strange timing.

Got mine today (2023). Same month as the first report - a first, I think.

I don't use any of the things fixed, so I can't judge. Unless radio is a generic term for 'entertainment sound.'

The only issue I ever encounter is no sound from the left speaker when CarPlay starts.

It’s rare. And pausing the audio for just 5 seconds fixes it. So all in all very minor.

I had the same issue a few weeks back. Odd. My update is scheduled for tonight.

Has anyone had any audio issues after this update? Mine updated last night, and now my center speaker sounds like it's either blown, or loose. It's especially noticeable on talk shows and songs with prominent singing. 2023 Mach-E Premium.

Blown center speakers are reasonably common in these cars. Very easy to replace, or even upgrade. I replaced mine with this Kenwood in about 10 minutes: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/center-audio-sounds-horrible.35993/post-941763

I had the same issue a few weeks back. Odd. My update is scheduled for tonight.

To be clear that’s a longstanding issue. It’s been going on for years, although it’s very rare. Pausing for a few seconds fixes it. So it’s not a big deal.
