Ok, so I am stuck with a 2021 Mach-E that is not even on update 2.81…I have paid about as much for my car as anyone else and yet am treated like a second class owner.
- Here are my questions to Ford Motor Company…
- What software updates have you pushed out since day 1? I would like to see a list by number, their release dates, and the basic info for each update.
- Can you provide this info through my Ford Pass and also the internet site where I enter my VIN. If not, why not.

- Can you provide me with the software updates my Mach-E has received since I purchased it new, by displaying it via web site, Ford Pass, or Sync 4? If not, why not?

- Since I am a second class owner, can you provide me with info as to when I will get these missing updates?

- Why can’t you post the preconditions in Ford Pass for getting software updates. Tonight a rep said my vehicle needs to be charged to at least 85%. This is new to me. If you can not maintain an updated list of preconditions on the Ford Pass, please explain why not?

- As an owner of an earlier Mach-E, will I ever get Blue Cruise? If so, when? Why the delay?

- As an owner of an earlier Mach-E, will I ever get a dash activated frunk button? If not, why not?

- The customer agent tonight told me that the current software number is purged from my vehicle screen after 90 days? Why is this? I can not tell the status because of this.

- Why does my Synch 4 screen tell me software is up to date.?

- Since Ford has decided to not inform vehicle owners with a status report of all software updates they have received, how will I know I have received all of them versus just some of them. How would I ever know?

- When I wrote a critque about my vehicle’s Synch 4 just after I got it, I mentioned the camera button should always be available on the top screen. It will be if I ever get update 4.`1.2. My question is this? Why did vehicle owners have to suggest this? It was not rocket science and any focus group would have concurred if that forum had been utilized. I bet there are a lot of Mach-E owners that could provide a lot of valuable suggestions if you had a place to post them where they knew they were read and then evaluated.

Take it to a dealer for BlueCruise. Some cars were stuck not getting updates and need to go to a dealer to fix the jam.

Are you the original owner? You’re blaming Ford when either you or the previous owner ignored plenty of notices to get free updates from the dealer.

There is (was) a TSB 21G01 that directed dealers to update software to enable BlueCruise. Other TSBs for updates as well. Did you ask your dealer about doing these?

I am the original owner and my vehicle has been to a Ford dealer three or four times for software updates. (Dealer told me today Blue Cruise is not available yet.) One time my vehicle was at a Ford dealer for a week as they attempted to get it to update. Both my dealer and Ford says that regular Ford Power-Up software updates need to be happen while owner has the vehicle versus being at the dealership.

I get your frustration with OTA, and that some need LVB to be charged to 85-95%. But I do think that your dealer is lying as blue cruise update has been there for at least the past 9 months. May be time for a new dealer?

Never have received notices from my dealer nor a vehicle health report.

Ford…I am also wondering why you can not send Mach-E owners an email of their vehicle’s software health report. When I called Customer Service she told me things about my car’s software that I could not see or know about. Why shouldn’t I receive this info on a regular basis via an email or via the vehicle’s Sync 4 screen?

Your dealer lied. They were not mistaken, they lied. Take your car elsewhere.
Hello Ford…Did my dealer lie or is Blue Cruise not available for early 2021 models and perhaps in some parts of the country?

As far as playing the blame game, my posting asks some pointed questions to Ford as to why Mach E owners are in the dark about software updates? Getting this info to owners is just common sense, the same as the new location for the camera.

They sent a notice about blue cruise. You’re posting constant questions like Ford is going to answer them. As stated, take it to another dealer and tell them you want blue cruise installed. Complain about the headache and tell them to just get your car current on all updates in FDRS. This will get you the new Sync, too.

Your dealer should have told you that FoMoCo has put a hold on installing Blue Cruise for some undisclosed reason. There were quite a few 2023s with BC issues. I have a theory that BC 1.2 with lane change feature may be complicating the update process for older MMEs.
