If you have any drip system irrigation, sheathing the string with the thin vinyl tubing works too. Completely unnoticeable.

The cover clips further back to the sides, but the front is held by the 2 loose strings. So as air enters from the front, it lifts the front of the cover and makes it flap.
So, yes, it needs more weight along the front edge or something stiff where the strings are to prevent it from lifting up.

Yep, the weight needed up front is a matter of a few ounces too. Just something to overcome the turbulence from an open rear window. ??

My 2 pieces of 1/2 inch pvc work flawlessly and they cannot be seen.
Pay $20 or more for a fancy mod, or cut 2 pieces of cheaper pvc; it's your choice.
I don't think I've seen a $20 fancy mod.
