Hi all,

I had the 21p22 update, windshield, and panoramic roof recalls performed a little over a month ago and I noticed that when I turn onto many roads now, I get the flashing 25 mph sign in my display like it recognized that was the speed limit and I'm greatly exceeding it. I think I've determined this happens on roads where there are no visible speed limit sign (yes, I live in the sticks). The vast majority of these roads have a 55mph speed limit while coming from another with a 55mph speed limit road. I'll be driving along at 55 mph while it just keeps flashing at me angrily(I know I can disable this, but I liked it when it was reasonably accurate).

I don't recall this happening prior to the update...if anything there would be no speed limit indicator on the display, which is what I would expect. Has anyone else noticed this?

you can toggle the warning on/off in settings and can also set a tolerance over speed limit at which it starts blinking at you

As I mentioned, I know I can adjust that. The concern is it's telling me the speed is 25 mph on many roads with speed limits of 45, 55, etc, and I'm pretty sure before it wouldn't list any speed limit at all in this situation. I'd still like it to tell me the actual speed limit if the car is aware of what it is.

It’s more than just speed sign recognition. The limit on some roads is read from a database determined by your location. I’ve seen some errors as well - the car updates to what it thinks is the speed limit even when no signs of any kind are present.

Did you ever turn it off after the update? Maybe resetting it may help. I live rural and do not have an issue; however, I have a 22 model.

Hi there! I can look into your Mach-E's speedometer concerns on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

I suggest you bring up the navigation display and check the GPS position. I had the GPS get lost several times after that software update and give incorrect speed limits. My GPS showed my car driving though a golf course and then just locking up at a fixed position. It also randomly stuck at some location I had parked at the day before. Speed limits seem to be computed based on a combination of the maps and the camera.

I just had some additional software updates done, but it will take a while to see if that really fixes it, since the problem only occurred intermittently. My wife had tow occasions where the nav system started giving her erroneous directions, and it was again a bad GPS position being computed.

My Bluecruise has some funky speed issues. On a road near my home going South it reads as 55 MPH which is correct, going North it reads at 30 MPH. On a 30 MPH road the other day it decided the limit was 70! Have several roads where the speed is way off. Another North/South road that has been 40 MPH for over 5 years the system decided there is a 200 foot section going South that it reads as 55 going North it bumps to 45 about two miles from the "55" section. Looks like whomever Ford has licensed the nav from has some issues.
