Had this happen today. Charged to 100% overnight with the Ford Mobile EVSE and had a departure time set to 9am. Went out to start loading the car at 8:15 and the pumps were running. At 8:30 I heard the HVBJ cycle 3-4 times and then got a charge error in the app. 10 minutes later unplugged, tried to start the car and got the SSN error. Pulled the negative terminal for 5 minutes and it went away. Haven't had a chance to scan the error codes (do they survive the battery pull?). It was about -6C outside and probably 5C in the garage where the car was.
Report back if it happens again. I doubt that will fix it, but it might have reset something temporarily.

Checked for DTCs today and there were none; guess the battery pull cleared them.

DTCs will usually clear with a battery pull but that doesn't mean the problem is resolved. Mine has come and gone randomly a couple times a month. It'll be fine for weeks at a time.

A persistent error would not have cleared or at the very least it would have come back shortly after power was reconnected. If the HVBJB was shorted or frozen open, the car’s systems would have detected those issues and reported DTCs for one or the other after it was powered up again. I suspect your error was due to something else, perhaps the Ford Mobile Garbage… err… Ford Mobile Charger. ??

Try plugging in the L1 for 10 minutes and then switch to L2. If that works, you have something similar to my issue and it’s temperature related. Is it cold where you are?
Interestingly enough the next time I went to charge the car after getting and clearing the SSN error, the FMC wouldn't charge on L2. The charger would reset (red LED flashed once) a few seconds after the coolant pump turned on and start the cycle again. Switched to L1 and it started to charge. Switched back to L2 and it worked . No DTCs and no SSN errors this time. It was -3C out but the car had just finished driving 100km so it shouldn't have been that cold.

Are you also using the Ford Mobile Charger?
