I still wish they would fix dynamic text sizing. I need cheaters to read anything, so I increased the text size on my iPhone so I can squint hard and maybe read a text Without them. The FordPass app doesn’t deal with that well. The text gets all overlapped and difficult to read without resizing the phone’s text size back to normal. I had to do that this morning to see that they gave me the additional 250kw of free charging.

my guess is this is somewhat Ford's fault and somewhat the fault of whatever cross-platform framework the application is written in (I forget if they told us somewhere what FordPass is written in).

speaking from experience, dealing with that kind of stuff is a lot harder than it should be.

there's a reason a mug like this exists: ;)

Hmm. Other apps don’t seem to have a problem with it. Sounds like a weak excuse for poor programming? 😉

I don't know if somebody already mentioned that, it would be nice if the charging schedule had a max current setting, that would make it more flexible charging from different 240V sources.
Yeah, it's been mentioned once or twice.......or dozens of times. Agreed, it would be nice.

I bet more apps have you problem with it than you realize. just not apps you use necessarily ;)
At least two of my charging apps have the same problem. I can't tell right now, because I've set the phone to use normal-sized text again.

AutoLayout has been available since 2014 or so, so there's no excuse for this kind of sloppiness, whether the app is written directly in CocoaTouch, or whether a third party library is used. I mean, unless they're using a third party library from 2014 or so. I shudder to think of the potential security implications that implies.

Did Electron exist in 2014? Its name alone makes it a natural candidate for a MME application. Except, the application is used on most Ford vehicles, too.

Due to the FordPass legacy and the wealth of ICE vehicles it needs to support, the dev team chose Carbon and is forced to ride it out on fumes at this point.

If you want to provide feedback to the Ford Pass team, I know a person over there. It's too hard to consolidate all of the feedback from multiple threads so I'm starting this one.

If you have your MME and have feedback/wants/needs for Ford Pass then list them here and I'll pass them along. Just to set expectations I would not expect any responses but I know feedback is appreciated.
I would like to be able to leave the car automatically unlocked in my garage and have the walk away lock disable at locations I program as safe.

A general comment - I decided on the Mach E in large part all the high tech marketing Ford did. When I received my Mach E 6 weeks ago I loved my new Mustang and I’m growing to hate it because of this app. The app is mostly disfunctional and I am disappointed that Ford launched the newest tech Mach E with this app. Phone as a key is totally unreliable. Most recently all of the charging info disappeared and I have have no idea if it’s plugged in or charging. If Ford intends to compete with Tesla they better rebuild this app so it actually works. The website is even worst as it contains useless information. Starting to regret purchasing this vehicle!!!

I just want the charge status to come back! The app’s most important feature is now bricked in 3.19.1.

I shouldn’t have to go out to my car to determine if it is charging. (And if I’m at a dc fast charger and I walk into the store because it’s gonna take 40 minutes to charge, I really need to know if it’s not working immediately via the app.)

I can see needing to support legacy systems being an issue. this is why I am surprised they didn’t create a ground up new app for BEVs. In fact, I still kinda hope they do.

Got worried. First my oil level was at 0 this morning, but thankfully an hour later back to 100. :)

Seriously, Ford has some serious issues with this app that are not a good reflection of their ability to do software properly.

@hybrid2bev: I have some output form adb logcat with two crash traces (one trying to set up PaaK, the other trying to access the "Services & Support" tab. Is there a good place to submit?

Anyone here have their FordPass Charging Network link disappear? I didn't really notice it until this morning, but I think it happened with 3.19.1...not planning any road trips soon, so not urgent, but can't figure out what's up. I activated my trial when I got my car and saw the link and balance with prior versions.

Currently on Android 11, Pixel 3a. PaaK continues to work fairly well for me, which is why this was a surprise.
