Let's not get too caught up in whether you prefer Subway or Cane's or Shake Shack, I like the concept in general. I'd love to have an oasis set up along the interstate where you can stretch legs, have a picnic, use a clean restroom, maybe pick up food and sundries or have 30-40 minutes of entertainment. Much better than sitting in a corner of parking lot somewhere.

Conceptually, this rocks. We planned our road trip with charging being a lunch stop. It worked out relatively well for us at walmart as we were able to go in and grab food and eat in the car but would be great to stop, charge and have a place to eat and play. I like it.

Subway is the Walmart of fast food (come to think of it, a lot of Walmarts have Subways).

More chargers are good I guess, but spending 20+ minutes at a subway isn't getting me excited.

I'm there 20 minutes anyway as it takes my family that long to decide what to order.

Riiiight. The kid behind the counter going to go out and flip a switch like the tired of life guy at the Pump and Dump who isn't all too excited to walk out and swap a propane tank for someone, in less than 20 minutes.

So while I love the idea, I'd probably prefer to see a more popular/better liked restaurant chain doing this. My concern is Subway trying it, whiffing it because people it seems people don't really want to eat Subway these days, and other restaurants looking at Subway's failed example as a reason to not follow their lead.

I'd be a little more excited if this was being pursued by a company that controls multiple franchise brands like DARDEN so they could offer a few fast and fast-casual options at each stop that are more appropriate to the area.
