I got the update, the app said it was done, the car said it wasn’t finished. I got the new phone icon in the menu. Can an update really be haöf completed? Either it’s done or it’s not. Right?
It's a known issue. The update went through.....you can ignore that message.

I personally, have never used the defrost setting let alone the MAX defrost setting in the last 5+ years in any of my Mach-E's. The HVAC is always set to Auto (72˚) and the car does a great job of keeping the interior temperature comfortable and the windows clear. I replaced the physical Max Defrost button on all three Mach-E's with a liftgate button which I use almost on a daily basis.
I live in California where it's warm all the time...

We use Max Defrost every winter with the Mach-E when on a long drive, otherwise the windows fog up. Lightning has much less of an issue.

No, you just need to wait. Ford is aware of the issue. This SSM was sent to dealers a few weeks ago:

I had the message on the Lightning, yet the update came through eventually. Surprised it did. I've gotten 2 of 3 on the Lightning.

Thank you Ford. I have received my three part update (although I have the error where it says the final one hasn’t installed). Apple Maps precondition is thankfully received, as is the phone selection and improved connectivity. The real bonus for me is that the issue with the distance to a junction being three times higher on the dash has been fixed. A previous update fixed this for the internal nav but the problem persisted with CarPlay. Apple Maps would quote the distance as 300 yards but the dash screen would say 900 yards. Clearly this is feet but with the wrong unit applied. Has anyone else spotted other fixes not mentioned in the release notes?

Installed on my car yesterday. Seems like most changes are in effect, yet, car claims the update was not successful. Display bug or?

Not sure if it is related to these updates, but I have not had the drive mode randomly switching since. My pony is definitely remaining untamed!

I had the same thing happen to me. So I went to the ford.com website to look at my software updates and I get the error message "We apologize for the error. We are working to correct it and request you try again later." I have chatted with Ford several times about this error message and the fact that I can't look at my past software updates and they keep telling me that they're working on it. Is anyone else having this problem?

My drive mode has not changed in a month and a half. I believe either the first or the second update in this sequence fixed the issue. I got the first 2 on consecutive days, so i can’t say for sure which one addressed the drive mode bug. The big final update came a few weeks later, a long enough gap that I was fairly certain the bug was fixed before then.

I have never had the drive mode change on its own. What model year cars did this issue effect?

Yes, it has affected many people who got this update across many different vehicle platforms. If in your "about sync" page, it shows you are on Sync 26093, then the update installed and you can ignore whatever else you are seeing. This will not affect the ability to get more OTA's sent.

This is affecting me even though I don’t have the Big 2026 Sync Update yet. I got the audio update (if memory serves) on June 7, and then this week I got the Gear Shift Module (GSM) update.

But the app still says that the last update was on June 7 and I get this when I try to check my software update history.
