While I'm open to the possibility of this occurring it is not behavior I've seen before.
I can try to add so customization to the time between polling of the data.

If users truly suspect this is the case then just delete the widgets from your home screen and leave the script installed. The widgets themselves are what drives the timing of the polling.
One way to check to see how often your vehicle is actually being woke up is to open the Script interface and leave it open. It polls the servers every 30 seconds. Pay attention to the Last Check-Date. If that's updating frequently then the vehicle is sending in data way more than it should.
Hi @tonesto7

I really didn't want to write my findings as I did, but for me, not having the widget on my iPad definitely seems to have cured my issue.

I am in the UK, don't know if that makes any difference.

I've had the widget on my iPad for a while, and had this message quite often, but since I've removed the widget (not scriptable or the script), it has not reoccurred.

As you can see in my tests I did, after fully charging the LVB, the error returned within 4 days with the widget on my iPad.
The same test again, without the widget, it has not returned.

Maybe I have a corrupt installation or something weird like that (been using it since day 1), but certainly for me, it is looking like a culprit. I love your widget, I really do, but this was one of the logical steps I needed to take to find my issue.

I am not saying this is *everyone's* issue, but for me, it looks like it is.

Some cars are driven more often or take longer trips, which keeps the 12V battery in good shape and probably counters the battery drain caused by app widgets.

To get reliable test results, you should check the %SOC of the 12V battery before and after turning off these widgets. Aux battery has a separate BMS, which will trigger an alarm if 12V drops below some %SOC threshold.

OBD2 bluetooth dongle will read 12V battery parameters in Car Scanner ELM OBD2 app:

Oh boy...is this gonna be hard to write, but in the spirit of being honest....It must be done. My plate of humble pie is ready to be consumed.

TLDR: My "System Off to save battery" is back. It is NOT the widget.

First off, I feel I need to apologise to @tonesto7 for my participation in this thread. A lot of finger pointing going on, mainly due to me, but for clarity, I need to be open.

This morning, the error is back, and that is without using the widget.

I would like to think I wasn't jumping to conclusions when I posted as it did *appear* to be the cause of my issue, but it clearly *is NOT the cause* of my issue. In future, I shall wait a bit longer before jumping to conclusions with regards to my testing.

As @tonesto7 mentioned previously, I think the people that are getting this message is due to an LVB that really isn't very good at holding a charge for very long. I have again put my LVB on charge (This is now a weekly chore), so now need to figure out a way of convincing my dealer that my LVB is bad, and somehow get a replacement, when in the UK, they are as rare as rocking horse s**t.

So, there we have it. I'm sorry for causing a ruckus, I truly am, and my quest to resolve this issue, as arduous as it is......goes on.

Just received OTA 2.8.2. I see if I still get the message. I have also been getting the 12v battery fault.

No bad feelings here!
I dealt with the bad battery thing for over almost a year. It was embarrassing going to start my $74K truck at the family events only to hear the relays spasm and the lights flicker because the battery was dead. I hated having to get jumped in a new vehicle.

It was so bad that I could even sit in the truck and listen to music for 5 minutes without it dropping below 7V-8V. The BMS system couldn't keep up with the battery drain.

I finally broke down and bought a battery for $200 dollars. I'm still planning on getting the OEM battery replaced when I take it in for service next time.

I thought the HVB kept the LVB charged in the Mach-E?

I get this message pretty frequently. Never had any problems, and it disappears very quickly after start up.

My best guess is I am more likely to get it if it has been a few days since I have driven the vehicle, or sometimes I notice at night that the driver display is randomly on with a dark screen - I think the screen probably times out at some point.

If you think about what the message says, it is odd that it appears when you turn the vehicle on. It seems appropriate to appear if you have been sitting in the car in accessory mode or the like and doing nothing for a while, but I've never seen it in that circumstance (but I also don't really hang out in my car in accessory mode, like some people do waiting for kids, etc.).
I turned off welcome lighting and this fixed the issue of the dark screen being on. I also found out that Optiwatt really pings the car a lot and wakes it up, so make sure you aren’t using a service like that.

I also haven’t had any issues since I got updated with all the BC updates all the way to 2.8.3

I think the LVB only gets charged from the HVB when the ignition is on.
The HVB maintains the LVB even if the car is off. However, prior to updating various software modules at the beginning of Feb, my car was not properly maintaining the LVB when off. So if your car is a Job 1 or Job 2, and you have never updated your software modules, you might have the same issue.

@Mach-Lee wrote an excellent post regarding how to recondition the 12V LVB. I am surprised he didn't mention it, but it is possible if you follow his instructions you might restore your LVB's health. I don’t use Optiwatt, and my car is as updated as it can be as I do all my own FDRS updates, so my second test now is the welcome lighting as you suggest. Now turned off.

Just received one new update Friday 2.8.2 and this morning warning came back on “system off to save battery”. Also headlights stayed on after shut down. I had to recycle light switch. Hopefully I’ll get 2.8.3 soon. Maybe fix these issue.

Headlight problem requires a hardware change. Someone said Ford is expecting to have the fixed replacement part around Nov.

For now, if your car dings when you get in the car, it means the lights switched from auto to on and you need to flip it back.

The ‘system off to save battery’ message can happen when an update is downloading, the modem runs on the 12V and can cause Sync to be switched off. I have recurring ‘electrical system drain’ messages and originally they thought it was downloading updates that causes it (modem on downloading large 1.7.1 update). But the messages continue and it’s now been found that I have a drain of 0.1A somewhere, but they’ve not found it yet. The dealer has done a pin test, short soak teat and need to have it back for a long soak test to find the cause.
