Tesla super charging stations almost worthless?

So...

Ford tells Ford owners to take 2 spaces, Tesla tells Ford owners to take 2 spaces.

Who is telling the Tesla owners who might be reasonably miffed that we are not there to purposefully block them out of "their" charger?

I've seen highway rest-area charger stalls completely full with a queue of waiting vehicles on holiday weekends, so I can easily imagine some tension arising.

Just saying, there is a social issue here...

I'm a geriatric Mach-E owner and am thrilled with the car. Nary a complaint.

The charge rate of 100kW is measurable, and I get more time over 100kW at Tesla than EA. If that means better cables or the adapter staying cooler and allowing for higher watts for longer who knows. I just know EA typically gets below 100kW rate long before the 80%, whereas Tesla stays there until the drop. I'll measure both over time and see if maybe EA hits higher peak charge rate, but then maybe the cables/transformer overheat and it dives. As I said, lots of variables I'm not aware of.

I cannot be critical. Having the Tesla system is an advantage to Ford.

You have to applaud Tesla for adopting CCS protocol in the first place, and then for allowing Fords to charge there.

No, it's not perfect, but neither are many of the EVgo and Electrify America stations, and Tesla certainly maintains their stations better.

If you're stuck charging at a Tesla station, look at the charger itself and think about it for a moment.

It's clear that Tesla stations are cheaper to build, easier to build quickly, easier to maintain.

I mean, do we really need the big screen on a charging station? Most cars are going to give you the information you're curious about, although with Ford. you have to use the FordPass application to see it.

It's not much of a thing to argue about for me, anyway. To this day, I've only DC charged to make sure that plug & charge really works at the big three around here (Tesla, EVgo, Electrify America).

I just completed a 1,200 mile round trip using exclusively Tesla stations Through Iowa, Missouri, and Tennessee. It was a terrific experience. Every dispenser worked at every stop. No broken or missing handles. No dispensers randomly limited to 40kWh for no apparent reason. Had a few curious Tesla owners ask questions. No dirty looks. We’re looking to add something bigger to the stable. this trip changed what we were considering. It must be NACS compatible.
