Sooo, tinfoil hat time...... All this latest activity has me reading up on the why's and wherefores concerning the Ford, Rotunda, Robert Bosch, IDS/FDRS/FJDS stuff in general, and in particular the Bosch privacy policy document that outlines what is gathered from their software users and what happens to it.

Was surprised to learn they said that they scoop up browsing history...... seems more than a little intrusive for a website or program that is used to provide diagnostics and updates for vehicles, at least to me anyway.

They also said that it's done using Google Analytics, and then went on to say that if you wanted to opt-out of anything from the browser you're using to view the site going to Google Analytics, that Google themselves provide a browser addon that does just that (Yes Please!).

So this addon works on a variety of browsers, and it will offer you the opportunity to add it to whatever browser you're using when you visit this link.

I use both Firefox and Edge, so I visited the same site with both of those browsers and followed the browser-specific instructions to install this addon to each.

I've attached this privacy policy here as a reference. Interesting and illuminating reading...

@Mike G are you still able to post here when you see a new update pop up for your car?
I'm reluctant to check now. Supposedly I have to be physically connected to the car with the laptop or it's considered 'remote diagnostics' if I just check it with the laptop sitting on my desk.

'Remote diagnostics' will get me blocked permanently, I've been told (below).

"We show that you a performing remote diagnostics which is not allowed. You must always be present with the vehicle. Please respond stating you will no longer perform remote diagnostics, and we can re-enable your account."

and...

"If we see remote diagnostics it will be suspended again and we will not be able to re-enable it."

I can post whenever I do see an update, however.

So i had my car at the dealer last week and they told me there were no updates for sync. I know that Europe has had the Sync update that enables Bluecruise and batterylevel in google maps. Is there anything i can do or contact to get that sync update in my GT ?

I do not want to spent any $$ on a temporary license until this is fixed.

Besides safety issues are updates done for pre 2025s? Ford is likely not spending any more money on these EVs to develop new features.
There aren't a lot of new features to be had at this point. The 2025s have different hardware, so we'll probably never see the pre 25s migrate to the 2025 UI. On top of that, we may be looking at Gen 2 mme's in the not-too-distant future. Those were slated to be Android Automotive-based vehicles with all-new issues, features, and problems. Feature updates are going to be as rare as hen's teeth at this point.

I'm OK if Ford doesn't have any more updates, with unintended consequences especially, for my 2023.5 Mach-E or 2022 Powerboost.

Both have had substantial improvements since delivery, but are now very stable and solid. I'm satisfied. Please don't change anything!

Ford Mustang Mach-E The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS FDRS_46-5-8_Announce

Here's the direct link to download.

Remember, (especially if it's been a while since you've used FDRS) the program is now subscription only. If you do still have a 20 character license code and it hasn't been converted yet to a "subscription login" type, you'll need to contact the helpdesk to get that done before you'll be able to use FDRS.

After updating the WACM and OBCC modules using the latest FDRS 46.5.8 this morning, I'm getting a SSN error, despite all of the modules showing green in FDRS.

There were some posts earlier in this thread noting that you just have to wait somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes to let things settle after clearing all DTCs following an update to clear a SSN error. Is that the best course of action or is there anything else I should try?

Edit: It appears that waiting ~30m was indeed the fix. After powering the car off and letting it sit, the SSN error is now gone. Thanks to @Mach-Lee for providing this insight.

Apparently time does heal all wounds, including post update SSN errors. :)

Yes, I let them sit off for 15 minutes if I get a SSN after updating. That solves it.

That will do it...but if you're really intent on getting rid of the SSN after some modules get updated (happens during certain updates and not others) then you can turn the car fully on, try to clear the DTCs and then run a selftest to see if everything will come back green. That usually works for me. But yeah...I've also just let it sit for a few minutes and after a restart the SSN is gone......of course I still have the "sky is falling, Danger Will Robinson!! Pull over before we burst into flames!" message in the Ford app to delete later...... :p

I've been trying to purchase a 2-day Ford Diagnostic Subscription ($120) since Sunday afternoon with no luck. I've tried various cards, all resulting in "Invalid credit card information" despite confirming all info. Anyone else able to purchase a 2 day in the last few days?

There's a guy on the Lightning forum having an issue trying to buy PTS access, too.

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/pts-payment-for-subscription-is-broken.33558/

Seems like there is a problem with whatever Ford uses to process payments. Chances are, it is affecting the ability to buy FDRS access, as well.
