With recent GFM (or BCM?) update I’m now seeing a Brightness indicator on the IPC when adjusting it near the headlight selector. Has that always been there?

Well, that was a wasted hour doing random modules, my weird sound issues resolved themselves after letting the car sit for a few hours. Drive home from work was perfect.

I just did all of the updates and am now getting alerts in a weird tone, like it is coming directly from the IPC. This isn't the distorted issue others reported where the system didn't boot up properly, etc.

I redid the config, and then the PMI when the config didn't work, for the DSP, APC and IPC since I thought those would be the culprit. When I did the IPC PMI, it sounded as if right after the chimes were back to normal - the standard kind of 3 times when you open the door, but then once I turned the car back on, it went back to the sound in the video. Help!
I have that once every month. It always disappears after the first drive.

Hello DIYers! After multiple instances with dealers not knowing how to help, I am thinking about embarking on doing updates myself. I think I have a good understanding of all the equipment needed.

It seems the biggest risk I need to mitigate to avoid any bricking is making sure I have a proper power supply. Most videos and folks on here look like they just connect the battery maintainer to the positive and negative terminals of the 12 V battery as if you were jumping it. However, in many of the TSBs it says to connect the negative terminal to the chassis to avoid the battery entering into sleep mode. Any advice here? Does it matter which one you connect to?

I don't think it's true that most people are connecting directly to the terminals on the battery. If so, they're doing it wrong. The MME has specific positive and negative jump points that should be used.

My bad. I meant the jump points; I haven't had coffee yet. Sounds good. Thanks!

That's weird.

I don't have a recall but I do have a customer satisfaction program thing that when I click on that takes me to the Ford site...and shows....no CSPs or Recalls....

I think I do have the 22B10 extra key fob as an outstanding FSA but since I did the Lightning fob thing instead I may blow that off.

My windshield recall, which was completed in 2021, suddenly came back Last week.
Is it a glitch or do they have to redo it? ha!
22B08 also came back as well.

Must be a Ford main computer glitch. My neighbor has a 2022, recall done OTA and his came back today too.
