I am inclined to say yes. but I am not sure what the difference is between the pro and the plus. I would hate for you to spend the money and then it won't work. Hopefully someone else more familiar with that model can chime in and advise.

Few days ago I was able to recover from a "purple" IPMA (made by my failed attempt at update with a poor power supply) thanks to Rudgeraw suggestion with:

This interface
https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Automotive-Diagnostic-Scanner-Programming/dp/B0D2VXJDRL

This Power Supply
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0C6K3NDVZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Just for info the PS was set up at 13.4V 60Amp in CostantVolt mode.

During the IPMA update the PS showed a fixed 31-32 amp usage with no higher spikes. After the PMI (which updated my module to the latest available) the subsequent Configuration part failed and also the next update failed.
I solved that running the IPMA Config procedure immediately after and than upgrading the other module connected to the IPMA manually (PSCM).

Glad to hear you were able to get it fixed!

The general rule is GWM, APIM, TCU and IPC in that order as they appear, but you are not showing any of those, so you can do them in any order. CMR will take 45-60 minutes and the IPMA will take 3 hours. IPMA and PSCM are chained, so don't start either one unless you have the time to see them through. Before starting the IPMA/PSCM combo, make sure your LVB is charged to 100% and the charger is on power supply mode.
Thank you. Reason why I ask is that I read something about updating some modules like IPMA could break adaptive cruise control. But maybe it was on other model years?

IPMA updates usually improve all ADAS related functions. They only time an IPMA update will "break" something is if it did not install properly or if the config process after the update was installed did not complete properly. Both scenarios are fixable with FDRS should that happen.

Coffee, doughnuts, dog treats. I have offered beer and been turned down on that. ??

There was at least one recent IPMA update (within the last six months) that when it was run would update the software itself, but the 'Configuration' phase of the update procedure would run on forever (should normally take no more than 30 seconds), and you'd have to disconnect from the car to stop it, reboot everything, and then when you connected back up you'd then specifically just run the IPMA Configuration to sort it out. Once we all knew that, and it was expected...then it wasn't a problem anymore. (this was on the Mach-E and the Lightning both!)

It's very, very hard to 'brick' something using FDRS.

ok guys, here is my story about IPMA in a purple state.

so according to my research IPMA stuck with Autel maxisys on some stage. I tried various other passthru devices, like launch smartlink and openport - all failed. At some moment purple IPMa turned into white, and i got a small panic strike. Removed negative connector from 12v battery and disconnected high voltage fuse under the hood, IPMA back to purple state.

went to my friend and took his scanmatic 2 pro as a last try (chance). at the same time I found someone who is disassembling mach-e and buy ipma module. but scanmatic passed the step where all other j2534 devices crashed.
here is what I found. it came to some blocks marked as 14H102, that are 4 files. 63,7mb, then 22mb and then 6 mb and last one is 63,7mb. looks like other j2534 devices can't handle 63,7mb so they crash and ford application cause the error. probably it's a cache limitation on most of j2534 devices. Scanmatic 2 pro did the job, IPMA came back.

another research detail: I was not able to do CMR with Autel + fdrs, but forscan (beta with paid license) + autel did the job as well.

P.S. my battery power supply is Launch PFP-100 :)

FDRS 42.5.6 has been released.

Because this is a major rev (41. to 42.) make sure you tick the box to 'remove user data' during setup to avoid the possibility of viewing corrupted module table data due to possible internal layout changes.

Also there's no more 're-run network test button' to spam for new updates anymore :p but hopefully that won't be necessary anyway.

As I’m considering doing myself with the help of this guide, would this one be compatible with fdrs?

Read the last few pages. Someone reported issues with the Topdon adapter recently. I would avoid it.

Be aware that the Mongoose plus is built to be brand specific. Get the right one for Ford, not Jaguar or other. For more information, go directly to the OPUS site. It's only their Super Goose and Car Dac that will work correctly across multiple brands. Car Dac can come with programming support and guaranties successful programing.
