I have plenty of headroom (physical as well as amperage) for an additional electrical run but was not sure it was really needed since I only really need to charge 1-3x/week.
My son has a Tesla Model Y (wife's) and a MME (his).

He has a level 2 charger in his single car garage. His charging requirements are similar to yours. He drives less so he might plug in 2x over night a week, my daughter in law 3x (approx numbers).

The charger is on the drivers side wall so it reaches either car no problem.

Works great for them.

I'll also point out that they live in Minneapolis, MN so it gets COLD. This does cause some additional swaps of cars into the garage to plug in but I've never heard them complain about it.

One Tesla 48amp charger for both cars. We swap parking spots and take turns. No problem.

So...

You have to include the CONDITIONS that exist at your setup.

At our house, to move the charger between vehicles would be CUMBERSOME. Garage is 20 feet deep. Truck fits with zero room on either end. Mach-E, pulled in, gives you zero room in front to pass a charging hose across to truck (Mach-E on the left). Mach-E can't be backed in due to driver not being comfortable doing that. AND, when we bought our chargers, our utility was providing $500 rebate AND the government gave 30% tax credit.

2nd charger cost - ~$625 including supplies
- $500 rebate
=====
$125
- $37.50 tax credit
=====
$87.50 out of pocket cost

No brainer.
Is your 2nd charger a dedicated hardwired 220 charger? We have the Emporia hardwired charger but I also have the charger that came with the Mach E. But it's just stored away up in the attic but I guess I could use it if needed....but it's never been needed yet....

You can only precondition the battery on one car at a time, and it takes 60 to 90 minut

I have 2 JuiceBox, now OpenEVSE, 48amp hardwired chargers sharing a 60amp circuit. They used to be load balancing, waiting for OpenEVSE to add that. Right now they are both set on 24amps, which is fine. When I need to, I raise one and lower the other.

We have 2 EVs and share a 40amp charger. Absolutely no reason to have two level 2 chargers. Nothing to worry about. Good luck!

Unless of course you have cheap electricity at night, and two EVs that need to be fully charged before the morning commute...

Simple math will get you in the ballpark.
Daily hours available to charge X (charger power X .9) X 3 = number of miles you can drive per day.
Split those miles by car…..you get the idea.

We've been a 2 BEV household for the last 20 months and have only one level 2 charger to share. No problem with just a little planning on what trips we need to make to ensure that we're charged up when needed.

We have 2 JuiceBox 40s in the garage. One for my MME and one for my wife’s i4. Our daughter has an ID4 and charges when we aren’t home.

I like to charge to 90% every night. My wife not so much

Mach e and a slow charging PHEV (which I try to always have topped up to it's 30 mile range). One Tesla Universal (has a long enough cord to charge any future car's charge port placement). No issues, also use a 110 plug to slow charge if needed.

If it were me and you are planning on being in the house for a while, and don't already have some sort of back up power, I might wait a year or two to see the different options (and hopefully lower prices) on chargers/systems that can use Vehicle2Home bidirectional charging and then use your current charger as the second.

So that'd be no different than my wife's ICE behavior.

"I need gas" really means the low fuel light has been on for days, and you might need to push it to the gas station. :giggle:

While funny, let's explore this.

My wife has no interest in planning our trips. We have traveled to 31 states and4 provinces with the Mach-E and Lightning. She barely knows fast charging.

She LOVES having a full tank every morning. She comes home, pulls in the garage, and the plug for the charger (charger is located to the right of the vehicle) is right there on the left wall in a holster. She pushes the latch to remove it, and plugs in. When she goes out, she unplugs and plugs into the wall holster, making sure she hears the latch click so it doesn't fall out. Couldn't be simpler.

As a result, the car is always at 90%. There is no "walk around and get hose and slide it on apparatus to the left side of vehicle". There is no "stop in driveway and then backout Lightning and swap cars". There is no "hey Rick, can you switch the cars, I need to charge". There is no "I can't take the Mach-E, it's empty". PRICELESS.

My wife is a pro on charging, takes trips to the White mountains and Quebec alone, plans her stops, charges well. At home she has almost never plugged a car in. She will state, "oh the car had some warnings and yellow lights on today about range...." I check and a car is below 5%
