So, the car is still a head-turner. It helps that I have washed it each weekend so far. Without fail, someone asks me about the car at least once a day. I had a Tesla owner ask me about it yesterday as he was walking out of his MS. The car still drives fabulously. A few issues have popped up. In the last two days, the fact that there is no retractable sun shade under the roof has become a small issue. As someone without hair, I do feel the sun especially when I have lowered the A/C to fan level 1 or 2 as opposed to Auto. Here in TX, it's been around 100 degrees and sunny the last two days. Normally, I lunch at work and it is not an issue. But, I had to drive to the dealership to pick up something on Friday and I felt it. Yesterday, we were on the road for multiple hours in the afternoon. Although this is probably only an issue for long trips and hot days, it is not comfortable for me. Luckily, I had a hat in the car, which quelled the annoyance. I think I will end up getting the front windows and the roof tinted darker. FYI, my wife who was in the passenger seat also found it annoying. The kids in the back did not really care.

Second issue: the cheap and flimsy cargo cover under the hatch. it is a piece of garbage. When I opened all four windows for fun to get the wind going, that thing was flapping around like nobody's business. Then, after a Costco trip, with a smaller than usual weekly purchase, I had to rearrange the purchased paper towels because it kept pushing that piece off of its holder. For a car that is close to $60k, it needs a retractable cargo cover. Period. Regardless, I will likely get super dark tint on the back although it will limit my rear visibility.

Solution to both issues: power, retractable shades or really dark tint unless someone has other suggestions.

I agree with you about the cargo cover! Someone came up with a simple fix using rubber o-rings but I haven’t tried it myself yet.

I took off the cargo cover soon after getting my Mach-E. Like you mentioned, it would flap around too much with all four windows open.

I do not miss having it though, the rear windows are pretty deeply tinted, I don’t think anyone walking by would see if something was inside unless they put their face to the glass.

On the cargo cover I agree it is sub optimal in the wind. I had been keeping it under the rear floor since February but installed it l last week since in the summer we use the AC more, it will get stowed away again in September. I did not tint my rear window when I did the sides as I dread getting those bubbles and just general looking bad in about a decade. Rear window tint always seems to get sketch with age.

Drove home, removed cargo cover and don't miss it.

I never drive with the windows open (love the A/C ?), so that one's not an issue for me. But the weak grips on the cargo cover spindle holders are. The slightest interference pops one side out.

I put a layer of electrical tape around each spindle to tighten up the grip, which so far is helping a lot. Even seems to stay in place with suitcases in the back, which is where it was always popping off (sliding over the top of them).

If that's not strong enough, I'll try O-rings. But the electrical tape may be enough.

I don't know about a decade, to me anything that lasts ten years has done it's job. But the 3m crystalline tint I have on my fusion has no issues after about 5 years of sitting outside with no garage in central Florida. That's full car including sun roof. I don't see a single reason to not get the back window tinted if you've done the rest and use quality tint.

Had my 06 Mustang done new and drove it until this year. Sides were fine but the rear was a bit less so, no bubbles or such like some bad jobs but it was not nearly as nice as the sides after 14+ years. On that car the rear window was a greenhouse and tint was required but this one the factory tint is good enough IMO.
