I don't mean to rub salt in any wounds. I just got off the phone with my dealer (he actually picked up!!!) and my car is sitting in Conway, PA which is about a 4 hour drive from me. He says "I still show that its expected between the 5th and 11th but you never know. Either way, its close!

I also called to get exact pricing down to the penny so I can tell my bank how much to cut and there was no BS about Xplan or hidden fees or anything. Looks like it'll be a smooth transaction.

In the Palsapp thread there's yet another person who reserved and ordered after me who is taking delivery today. Congrats to him but ? at Ford.

Congrats @Davedough I hope it comes in sooner than expected for you. You've been waiting as long as or longer than me. Stick around here until you get it. After that, don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out! :p

Good man. I was thinking of nominating you for taking the reigns of Grumpy Bouncer once I'm gone. Looks like my instincts were right

A bunch of companies prevent 3rd party buyouts of leases, due to the chip shortage. So you might want to check in on that directly with BMW. If BMW allows third party lease buyoffs, get a quote from carmax or carvana too. I have a friend who got out of a tesla lease by selling it to carmax, and made some seriously good money out of it.
Visited my dealer and he contacted BMW, and they don't sell leases any more :( So my options include selling it back to BMW without sales tax (will talk to them tomorrow), or buying it out with paying sales tax on it, and then selling for a best offer, probably carvana.

Still no updates on palsapp...

It's so maddening that 4 hours transform into 2 week delay. Even after months of waiting...

Still a good news that it's close!

Have you checked into your States DMV rules on taxes? In CA we have 10 days to transfer title after a purchase which lets us avoid paying the sales tax. I did this a couple years ago and was about to do it again but the local VW dealer gave me what I needed so I didn't have to buy it.

FWIW, I’ll be gone in 4-5 weeks and we have to find a new bouncer.

The previous update I had had for it was in Decatur, IL on the 11th. Google Maps says that's a 9 hour drive to Conway, PA. That means it took 8 days to go about 560 miles. My hopes of getting the car this week are seeming bleak.

My Premium sat at the train station in New Castle DE last Spring for 2 weeks before they trucked it 2.5 hours to my dealership. Hope it is better for you. Others that arrived on the same train got them in a day or 2.

Still time to be grumpy ?

We lost our GTI (RIP...sniff) a few weeks ago to an overzealous person making a left hand turn across traffic - so had to go emergency shopping for a replacement off the "lot". Long story, long - we found an AMG A35 that fit the bill but it was at the Baltimore port awaiting a module - we signed a waiver to get it released and sold without the module (will have it installed later) - it took 10 days to get from Baltimore to Bethesda - due to the trucker shortage. so yeah....holding breath for that last mile shipment coming in earlier (/sarcasmfont).....GRUMP

All ok! thanks for asking. Just didn't need TWO new car payments, but what are you gonna do? the GTI was a 2016 with 26k miles on it - so granny/church driven. Insurance did a good job of paying out a nice sum based on the current market.

As much as I know, in MI up to $7K from trade in are sales tax free, so it's $420. I'll find out tomorrow how badly BMW wants my X3 back.

At least it's something to do other than refreshing palsapp...

Now that @Davedough is close I don’t feel as bad…my Premium SR AWD in Rapid Red was delivered yesterday and I picked it up today from Quirk Ford in Augusta, Maine. They don’t do ADM so no trouble there!

Only took 10 days from factory to KC and 18 days from KC to Maine. I definitely threaded the transportation bottleneck needle.

It’s been a comfort to hang out with y’all. Best of luck and enjoy your Mustangs!

Congrats! I hope you love it! Just because you were nice, it doesn’t give you any excuse to stay in the grumpy thread longer than you are welcome. I’m sure you understand. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them
