My tire pressure on sync seems consistently high.
This is after sitting in the garage overnight. I filled the tires with my pump that was set to shut off at 39 psi and my separate tire pressure gauge reads 39 psi.
Anybody else have this experience?

I also wonder about the accuracy as the tires frequently read different psi after filling up. I had an Audi before that would report the pressures in 0.5 psi units and they would be consistent after filling up.

Mine are up to 44-45 since temps are warming up this time of year here. I'll let some pressure off on the next cool morning.
I expect AZ is even more extreme since I used to live in the Valley of Sun.

Yup, my MME consistently reads higher tire pressure than my handheld analog gauge.

Unless you drive, the pressure isn't real-time. And it is a Tire-Pressure Monitoring System, not a tire gauge. And they only show whole numbers.

Plus or minus 1 psi is normal. Dropping overnight is normal, as temps drop.

TPMS is not intended to set your tire pressure, only to monitor the pressure and alert you if one falls radically out of step with the others or if any fall out of a pre-programmed “acceptable“ range. I have seen in-car TPMS readings off by as much as 4 PSI from my analog gauges that I used to use at the track. Most of my digital gauges are also off a bit, but not by nearly that much. ?‍♂?

My car reports pressures reasonably consistent with my manual pressure gauge. Within a pound or two. I would not expect accuracy any better than that.

Got a message in Ford Pass app the other nite. One of the tires was significantly under inflated. Was at 15 PSI, more than a typical overnight drop.

Screw in the tread. Helpful heads up before heading out in the morning.

I find the TPMS is consistently 1-2psi higher than the reading of a gauge. I guess that's normal.

Yes, all that above, and the system is not to be relied upon for accuracy but as a comparator.

Also consider your tyre gauges, unless calibrated cannot be taken to be accurate.

Then there’s rounding up/down to be considered.

Heat, atmospheric pressure differences etc can have an effect.

After a while following setting tyre pressures, 100s miles and days, I find left hand tyre pressures read slightly higher than right hand tyres but so long as they don’t start to differ more wildly than that is just fine, I

Thank you all for your great replies!
good to know many had similar experiences
I am surprised though that no one told me that adding air to the nitrogen filled tires would form nitrogen oxide which would increase the pressure.??

Go drive it for a few minutes and check it with the separate tire pressure gauge again. How do they compare?

Mine reads 2 psi higher than my gauge, 3 psi higher than Discount/Costco’s auto fill thing
It’s odd that some peoples cars take so long to register. Mine updates like every 2 to 5 minutes.

Yep, I have a 1 lb. ‘ over’ reading after sitting all night, but I expect this due to temp variations, and as stated earlier, TPMS is more an ‘early-warning’ system than a precise tire register.
