Can this really be called an SUV if it’s not rated to tow at all?

I called Torklift in Kent WA, they said they currently have no plans to create an Eco-Hitch for the MME, but they would be more inclined to do that if they saw there were people interested in that. If anyone here is interested in them creating a version for the MME, you may want to contact them and get on their list. Torklift
I love the idea of nothing in sight and being able to pop in either a 1-1/4” or 2” receiver. My two questions areMark, I posted about Invisihitch.com being near me awhile back and I have not talked to them about the MME yet but here is a pic I saw from another member and 2 from my dirty F-Pace in the garage. Without getting below bumper level, no one can see my connection point unless the hitch is attached. My concern is what is laying behind that plastic on the MME.
Interesting. When I spoke with them in April they were quite interested. I am 100% satisfied with my connection but I did have to allow them to remove the rear bumper to measure and eventually cut the plastic skid plate. It is bolted to the frame and took a mild rear-end bump with zero damage. I use a Northern Tool cargo carrier often but I don't have a bike carrier. I pulled a single axle trailer a short distance with no problem. IF Invisihitch will do it, I know they will do a perfect job.I love the idea of nothing in sight and being able to pop in either a 1-1/4” or 2” receiver. My two questions are
How solid does the receiver feel when popped into that connection? And
How deep is the receiver (wanting to make sure it will accommodate my bike rack)?
Awesome! Thanks.I am 100% satisfied with my connection but I did have to allow them to remove the rear bumper to measure and eventually cut the plastic skid plate. Not in my opinion. Can this really be called an SUV if it’s not rated to tow at all?
I neither need nor expect the "Mustang Mach-E SUV" to match the 5000 lb tow rating of a Tesla Model X (which has no special gearing), but I do need and expect it to be a Vehicle that offers as much Utility as it does Sport. My Toyota has delivered that experience for over ten years now; whether the Ford will be able to replace it remains to be seen. I hope so!
If the Mach-E is an SUV as advertised, then those of us who need to tow a trailer should be able to do so. In my case, 30-50 miles round trip is typical.
Well, MT's assessment is consistent with ours. The Mach-E is a sporty crossover. To manage expectations, Ford really should market it accordingly. I do hope a proper BE-SUV will be offered soon!
Perhaps they should just call it a tall Mustang sedan?3. Ford had the Mach-E GT roped off on a stationary platform. Though it is attractive from a distance, I was unable to get a good feel for it without access. When I asked about tow hitch and roof rack options, the rep replied, "Sorry, those are not recommended. It is not an SUV, it is an SUV-sized crossover." They could do a better job with marketing.
Doesn’t this seem to contradict the ‘rated to tow’ statement last night? Not that we won’t know the towing capacity from Europe.Interesting Q&A on this in tonight's webinar. Not sure I believe it:
Q: Can a hitch be installed for a bicycle carrier?
A: Absolutely - just like in other Ford products. Your Ford dealer will be able to help you with any add-ons to help personalize your Mach-E
Did you read the discussion in this thread? Invisihitch.com and Torklift/Ecohitch seem to be the two strongest aftermarket contenders.Has anyone seen an update on adding a receiver hitch for bike racks? I’ve scoured but no actual confirmation on this.
That's as far as we've gotten.I did but I took those as possibilities not official so I wondered if there was anything certain
