Hello,

I own a 2022 Ford Mach E Route 1. I've noticed the trunk doesn't auto-unlock. Its worked a few times in the past, but lately it doesn't work at all. I tried some of the suggestions provided by other Mach E owners (enter and exit Valet mode) and disable/enable auto-unlock. None of them seem to work. Can you please provide some suggestions. This is a real pain in the neck especially when I have my hands full and the trunk wont unlock.

Thanks, Chris. My Rt 1 doesn't have a power liftgate :(, which was a real bummer and now the auto-unlock doesn't work. I am a little bit frustrated with the Mach E features. I just don't understand why they can't put a power liftgate on all the models. This is definitely a dumb decision by Ford to put the power liftgate on certain models and not others. On the Route 1, I couldn't even add an upgrade.

I just visited my local Ford dealer service center and they did not have an answer. They did commit to investigating with the national Ford team. Hopefully more to come.

I use PAAK and the rear liftgate almost never opens if I try it first unless I just drove the car. I usually have to open the driver door first and then I can open the liftgate. It is annoying.

MY23 Select RWD. I started having the same problem: trunk NOT unlocking with key fob in my pocket. Sometimes the doors don't even auto unlock when I push the door button (either side). I've tried most software tips people have suggested: turn on/off valet mode, auto unlock, and unlock driver/all doors. None have worked. The only thing that I haven't tried is this "2-step unlock" because I can't find it. Anyone knows where that is? Or any other suggestion? Beside hoping it goes away with a new update? Thanks.

Hi all,

I have a 2021 Rt 1 and it is acting weird. When I walk up to the trunk, key in pocket, it won’t unlock for me. Each time I press the button on the underside of the lift gate, the lights flash yellow, but it doesn’t unlock. If I press the “unlock” button on the key fob, then it opens fine.

Weird thing is, it used to work fine. Walk up, press button, unlock and open. Now it doesn’t. In fact, it’s gone back and forth. When I bought it, it worked as predicted. Then it did this won’t unlock thing for a month. Then it went back to normal. Now it isn’t unlocking again.

It feels like a setting I accidentally changed, but I can’t find it. Any tips?

And sorry if this is a FAQ — I searched the forum and couldn’t find an answer among all the other lock/unlock issues. Thanks.
FYI, Possbly and update buy mine now works again, with the FOB or my phone/app :)
Small win but I will take it.

Same issue here. Trunk won't open with the fob or PAAK nearby. The car usually knows I'm near because it will turn on the puddle lights most of the time, but it won't unlock any doors or trunk. I have to use the fob to either unlock the car or open the trunk.

Door buttons are also now sometimes taking 2 presses to actually unlock an open. I've been through all the settings and switched them off and on again and that doesn't fix it.

yep had this years ago and now it’s back again. These poor updates are getting old.

Just remember that the fob or phone must be within 1 meter of the door you are trying to open. Being close enough to trigger welcome lights isn’t close enough to open a door.

I have same issue (22 CR1). Was common a year or so ago. Seemed to fix itself. But noticed again a couple months ago. I’ve trained myself to open with the fob mostly these days.

Yeah. I'll have fob and phone in my pocket and try to hit the physical trunk button to open the trunk and it won't open. The only way to get the trunk open is to use the fob (trunk button or door unlock), FordPass button on the phone, or go around to a door and open it first.

On the plus side, my Sync trunk and frunk buttons now work all the time, as opposed to the "once every other week or so" that they did before.

One glitch goes away, and a new one pops up.

thanks for the offer to help. Already mentioned to dealer. Just like the 1mph issue on the driver’s screen when in park, I can show them a photo or video of it, but they find no codes and have no way to replicate or remedy.
